For those of you that are regular readers of boberika, you would of noticed that I haven't updated my blog for a while, I've been taking a bit of a break to re-focus on what really makes me happy. Now days with access to so many blog, digital magazines and apps that pull together creative content all in one place, I feel like the content on my blog is a bit redundant. I've also taken a new direction in life (I'm studying to be a holistic nutritionist) in which I want to make the world a better place by changing... Continue reading

This week I got to chat to the lovely Lucy from Bean to Bar Chocolate. I first met her at the Sunday Up Market where she introduced me to single origin chocolate and her passion for good chocolate is really inspiring... Can you give me a brief background on the chocolate you sell and what's so special about single origin chocolate compared to regular chocolate you can buy at the supermarket? Bean to Bar Chocolate specialises in sourcing the finest chocolate from around the world. Like coffee or wine, chocolate varies depending where it is grown and how it is... Continue reading

Last week I got to catch up with my very talent friend's Chaplin at their gig at the Strongroom Bar in Shoreditch and this week I'am out in Shoreditch again and looking forward to press night opening of summer rooftop launch at The Queen of Hoxton. Thursday will certainly be a busy day and in the evening I'll get a chance to (hopefully!) bask in the summer sun and sample their new cocktail and BBQ menus. The Queen of Hoxton certainly know how to throw a party and their rooftop is such a great space, has a fantastic view of... Continue reading

Graphic Designer David LaFerriere has been sketching on his son's sandwich bags for since May 2008. He said 'It was just a way to have fun with the kids and also start my creative juices before work. I had already been making their lunches, and I experimented with a few things. They love it, and nothing makes me happier than hearing their reaction at the end of the day.’ What an inspiring thing to do to start the day... Continue reading

As I wondered around the Sunday Up Market (Bricklane) I ran into the very creative Brendan from iam acrylic. Brendan and Ruth have created one off design's for Christa Vi (you may of seen the blog I did on the cute red acrylic heart's before). Anyway, as it happend I also had my camera and a quick chat and here's what Brendan and Ruth are up too... What do you use as inspiration for your designs? This is always a difficult question - and it always feels like a cop-out to say 'everything' - but that is pretty much the... Continue reading

Quality is always a must, add some creative edge too and you have one great product. For example a great tasting tea will always be bought, but if it’s sold as cleverly packaged as this butterfly tea bag by Designer Yena Lee, then it makes it cute and a nice surprise for your visitors... Having an asian background and growing up with my grandma and mum constantly cooking wonderful asian style meals, I often get a hankering for a taste of home. But with most my family on the otherside of the world I can't just pop home for a bite to eat, so I've learnt how to cook many of my favourite dishes. Continue reading
