When a word is worth a thousand pictures
When a word carries the suggestion of catastrophe, it brings up all kinds of vivid images that none of us want to see. One word like that is "embolism". The afternoon of August 18 I was going about my business as usual when suddenly I could not breathe. There was... Continue reading

Brenda, thank you so very much for your kind words!
Yes, it does take a toll to stand by and watch, unable to fix the problem. David is a dialysis patient, thus somewhat fragile, so it is always scary when additional problems strike out of the blue. Each day my stress asthma got worse and worse. I thought I would have bounced back by now, but the heat wave, humidity, pollution, and hay fever season are upon us.
I agree so much that familiarity is healing! When you are in the impersonal sterility of a hospital, you long for the comforts of home!
Thank you again, and I do hope you are enjoying using our stamps. I would just love to see some of the things you've made!
Keep on crafting!

Rubber stamp therapy
This photo, taken from my husband's room in a medical center, is as surreal and Edward Hopper-like as last week was for us. He suddenly became very ill with chest pain, coughing, and shortness of breath - we dashed to the emergency room and after hours of tests we received a diagnosis of pneu...

Key West Lighthouse
Photography disaster! Photography disaster! I couldn't get the flash shut off, for starters, so you can't see the cute little triangular sticker-thingie at the bottom of the lighthouse image. It has a couple of dolphins at the top, then the text "by the sea" below. Then there is some kind of...
When you bring stamp images to life with color, doesn't it take you back to those colorbook days? It does me!
Let's color!
When I was a wee girlie (OH so long, long ago!) a hot summer day in southern Indiana usually brought my best friend Linda Faye Hinkle over to my house carrying her Crayolas and a battered coloring book, shouting, "Let's color!" That meant we would lie in front of a floor fan on our bellies & ...
Hi Tammy!
Penguins from Hell. . .oh, really?
As I glanced at the etsy shop widget on my blog this morning, I happened to notice a card my daughter Stephanie had made using the October Pumpkin penguins stamp. Underneath the sweet little penguin family, the sentiment "Hell" was visible. I stared a moment, then thought surely that word must b...

Ok, message just vanished - hope it doesn't resurface multi-times like my
registration did!
I just found Graphic 45 at a scrapbook store in Dayton OH and fell in love at first sight - these are such wonderful, beautiful, high quality papers. I have two and can't wait to get more. As soon as I got them I had to get out 2 b.day cards in a BIG RUSH so I slapped together the ones shown on my blog in about 10 mins apiece and will spare you from seeing them here, as they would look so pathetic compared to the amazing and awesome projects you all are posting - like the ballet items here - SIGH! If only I could spend all afternoon poking around here, but must go keep an appointment.

Tracey shows us a ballet birthday invitation and layout
“Ballet Birthday Invitation and Layout” I created these sweet, handmade birthday invitations for my daughter’s ballet birthday party. The photo on the front of the card was taken during one of my daughter’s recent ballet classes. (Anna is the one with the white shoes.) I printed the invite ...
