Cold & Lonely
I lie on my pouf in the kitchen, and my body aches because it is too small. I dare not stretch out because if I do, Grandma will hate me for getting my black hair on the floor. I'm not allowed to sleep with my girl anymore because Grandma says the Pottery Barn Sheets are too expensive and ...

This Comment is addrerssed to everyone. Its just me musing... but I was
Just Wondering....
Why does it take 5000 sq feet of suburban home to live with you on land and only 32' LOA to live with you on the water?
Why is the food more delicious, the wine more intoxicating, and the glances more sensual?
Is it the simplicity that allows us to once again feel like those first days when we were preoccupied with only each other?
Why does a V-berth offer more comfort, security and restful sleep than our California King?
My mind soars with thoughts of you and I as we drift through dreams of oceans conquered together.
The only reality consists of two pennants and a mooring keeping us anchored to this earth.
Found, Free, and Fuming Mad!
Dear Joey and Simon, I heard the car coming up the driveway, and I waited until I could hear the crunch of the man's feet before I started to wiggle and whine. The garbage can teetered a bit, and my voice sounded hollow. I can only imagine what it looked like from outside. I heard the man s...

We are! We opted to stay with the original Galley-maid oven that uses alcohol! I'm so terrified of propane because my last boat had an LPG explosion aboard before we purchased her. After hiking the Appalachian Trail this year, I became more comfortable with alcohol. So, we are going to give this a go! Tonight, chicken ( instead of turkey) stone crab, and yellowfin Tuna....and of course all the trimmings! I hope you have a fabulous feast as well! THis will be my second fully cooked Thanksgiving aboard, and there is nothing quite like it, especially while living on the hook.
I hope we get to meet you sometime, as well. We're leaving the country in a few months, so maybe it will be in some far away port....I can smell the spices from here....no wait! That's dinner! Time to eat! Have a great night, Ray.
Round One: Raccoons!
Dear Simon, I'm writing this to you, because I know you have found yourself in some embarrassing predicaments. I remember when you were a puppy and you fell down the rainstorm drain. It was freezing outside and sleeting, and they couldn't get you out. The man went about 200 yards down to w...

Ray,
Hi, and thanks for reading the blog. To answer your question, I am on a 32 Endeavor class sloop. Shes an older girl, but I chose her specifically for her heavily laid hull. Im old school, in thinking these early Fiberglass hulls make the best cruisers. This is my first Endeavor and so far I am a big fan. Shes getting some solar panels and a wind gen before departure. I also am going to have to update the electronics a bit. Any suggestions? Are SSB radios still widely used or are Gsat phones taking over? My last cruise was 2004, so I know some of the finer details have changed.
The rest of the boat is functional and aesthetically pleasing, though I probably will not spit-shine her, do to the fact that I like to travel under the radar. A really bright shiny boat is just asking to get boarded in lower latitudes...
Whats your story? You alluded to some trips south... Whats your berth? Favorite anchorages? Etc... Id love to exchange ideas. :)

Dear New Jordans,
That was very profound, and of course true, although I would add we can also deceive each other. But, those are human problems, and this pack of canines, fortunately, do not have to worry about these things. :). They live in the moment, accepting each new thing as it is presented. They may not like the new thing, but they do deal with it in the here and now. A respectable quality.

Bear Adjusts to Grandma's House
Dear Simon and Joey, I arrived at Grandma's and at first I must admit I was a little afraid of her. It seemed like everything I did was wrong. She likes me to be very quiet, and still. This is very hard for the Cocker Spaniel half of my pedigree. She didn't want me to step on the carpet, so s...
