Well, maybe it's not... but there's a time for thought and a time for action, no? I don't seem to be able to get passed the thought stage these days.

Haven't been here for a while. I've been thinking about going back to painting. Sometimes I think too much!
My tracks are always muddy too! Hello back to both of you, and likewise *:)

Yes, I can see them in both too. It's not just the pattern that grabs me, but the texture too!

I like the relationship this has with the image in the previous post of verdant moss across a bridge. All lovely!!!
boro heart?
Sooner or later all hearts need some mending... This heart is part of a long strip of hearts that I pieced together. I was about a 1/2 inch short of having a long enough strip to fill this heart so I just tucked a little piece of plaid under the yellow-green fabric (which is mud cloth) to f...
My pleasure :)*

Saturday morning and a small homage to my friend Mithun, pyrotechnical wizard and creator of profound beauty.
Although surrounded by jungle, and a million shades of green, THOSE greens just don't exist here. It's like Hookers Green, mixed with plenty of water, and and a peck of Payne's Grey... have always loved that class of green and love seeing it here.

drum roll please....
It was asking to be done.

Grace,
Point taken! Maybe I will ask my Dad (who lives in the UK).
A short voyage
Me: photograph by Nilo. Working so much that the desire to make cloth has slipped away from me for the time being. I'm too exhausted to think creatively in that direction. Sunday morning offered a little time off and the chance to make a short voyage with Nilo and a couple of friends to the ot...
Montse,
Well today I AM stopping. I've had flu for the past I don't know how many weeks... and just when I start to feel better... my wholebody starts aching and I start sneezing!

Do you mean it's difficult to stop what you're doing... or difficult to stop once you do nothing? ;)

Don't know about you, but whenever I do nothing, I feel like I'm wasting precious time!

Good thinking! The problem is it's impossible to keep photographs here. They liquify!

Yes, it's funny but I forget that doing this is an option here.

I have the feeling it might be more than a short one!

I can't even manage repetitive stitching right now! Sometimes one just can't keep "doing", and have to let it all wind down. As my father says, nothing in excess is good for you.
two inch squares
it's been a while. all i feel like doing is some repetitive stitching. winding down. winding down. and i'm thinking about how long i have been blogging. some of my cloth is showing signs of age. so am i.
Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of the idea, right now I don't have the time or creative energy to develop it, but am still rocking it through my mind when I finally get to stop at the end of the day.
The idea
For over a year now, I've had this idea about layers. About a base cloth with a layer that is a repeat pattern - or fragments of one - stitched over top, or made in a reverse applique fashion. And for some reason, this idea has stuck. And for some reason, in my mind, the form of this layer is li...

Oh that would be great if you could find a photo. i kind of have the feeling that I have seen an image of what you're refering to, although I cannot bring to mind the exact piece. many images have spoken to me since the idea first ocurred to me. each time compounding the idea itself. in my head i have a a file of these images, each which fits with the idea, although each perhaps in a different way, sometimes having shifted slightly the idea. one of those images was of a piece that you did, although i cannot remember what it was called or where you have it catalogued. and when i saw it, i stashed it in that file in my head. it is the corner of something. a fragment. the base cloth is a kind of logwood grey color and you have placed a nautral cloth over the top that looks like calico. then you have cut a very fine pattern, like a vine and the top layer is stitched. there is a fringe. i liked that piece alot!
thanks for the nudge forward. i feel that rush, as though standing on the cliff edge having decided to dive off :) i think i might just try it. afterall, it's not like i am doing so well at getting on with all of the other things that i've started this year. i just have alot of work that keeps me from my idea. but stitch by stitch, is how a thing gets finished, right?
