Today I'm thankful for the Pacific Science Center, one of the most amazing places to visit. We recently bought tickets to see the King Tut exhibit this upcoming June!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I was OBSESSED with all things Egypt when I was like 9. This is SEVERELY exciting for me.) Just so you... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful for my lovely, old-timey Honda Civic. Sure anyone could break into my car. Sure I was in middle school when it was made. Sure it hits bottom on the majority of speed bumps. Regardless, that car is reliable. It carried my then boyfriend (now spouse) from WA... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful for Craigslist. What an amazing way to connect people with the stuff, pets, jobs, rides, and people they're looking for. It's kind of the weirdest system, but it works. Colin found his car on craigslist and two years later, sold it via craigslist. I've found several jobs... Continue reading

I wouldn't have thought of going to an antique store to try to sell anything, but I did come across some very lovely, but very not my style things that we given to me as a gift. My mom had some old stuff that she didn't need anymore either, so... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful that there are so many thrift/consignment/2nd hand stores out there. It's like recycling without the added energy drain of converting something into something new, which is always nice. Over the weekend, Colin and I sold 4 bags of books to a used book store and donated 6... Continue reading

Today I am thankful for plastic. I know, it's a hideous evil sometimes, but it can also be a wonderful thing. Most things I own have to be stored in air tight containers on the boat because obviously when I don't, they start to mold. (Awesome..) Yesterday and today we... Continue reading

Today I'm so grateful that Mr. and I didn't run out of enthusiasm for organizing things. We stayed up late last night ripping apart everything in my parents' basement and went to sleep in the wee hours of the morning. After a brief sleep, we woke up early and set... Continue reading

In this whole de-cluttering escapade, I came across our flare gun and flares to be used while away from the dock in emergencies. I am embarassed to admit that every single flare we own is expired. We've only owned the boat for a little over a year, so I'm also... Continue reading

I have been freaking out over Jen's blog lately. In giddy preparation for this weekend's massive organizing campaign, I oogled over basically every post on her blog (sometimes some pages twice...is that bad?). Everything is so nice and tidy and it was the PERFECT blog to find! I'm tempted to... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful for my helpful husband. Not only is he supportive, good at listening to me ramble, and fantastically fun, he also makes dinner for me. :D Very nice when leaving work at 10:00 pm and hungry. And he makes lovely food. Our little system seems to be that... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful that we have a functional laundromat here at the marina. When the day comes that we don't live on a boat, wherever will live MUST have a washer and dryer in it (creature of habit). I've been spoiled all my life having a washer and dryer in... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful that my husband and I get along with our families. As in he and I get along with my family, his family, and my sisters' spouses' families. It makes the holidays and everything that much nicer. We had some guest passes to the Woodland Park Zoo and... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful for clean, running water. When you live on a boat like ours, you have to fill up your water tank with a garden hose and pump it out of the tank with a foot pump. It's minorly annoying to have to go outside and fill up the... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful that I have ready access to whatever food I want, whenever I want it. We recently started up an account with Kiva, a microloan agency. There are stories about the people applying for loans and what they plan to do with their loan money. You can pick... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful for my parents. When we decided to move to a boat, I figured we'd keep all of our stuff in storage. My parents VERRRY generously offered to store our stuff in their basement. We have a lot of stuff. Like big stuff. Four piece leather sectional anyone?... Continue reading

Today I'm thankful that I finally got rid of most of my Saturday shifts. I know this will make me less busy at work and thus, less moolah, but in the 2 years and 1 month since I've been married, we've only had 5 months where our schedules meshed and... Continue reading

Dance lessons were awesome. We've finished them up now. We took two sessions (5 weeks each) and then at the end of the second session, Rico asked us to come back the next week to demonstrate how much we learned to his new class. It was nerve racking, but fun. It would have been one thing if he just wanted us to dance, but he also wanted us to talk about the class. I did all the talking and Colin just smiled and nodded. :D We also did the bachata class, which was awesome! Now it's time to go dance in public!

We had plans to attend two parties for Halloween. The first party was Mad Men themed. Though I've never seen the show, we tried our best to dress the part. The second party was a costume contest, so we tried to make a quick change and head off to the... Continue reading

Hello, I'm back after a very long hiatus. I get excited about doing things and then often something causes me to lose steam. Blogging is no different. I'm not sure if it's living on a boat or a quarter life crisis, but I've been having some panicky times lately. It's... Continue reading

I LOVE dancing. When I was little I always wanted to take dance lessons, but I did other stuff instead. That's fine, but as soon as I got to college, I took Social Dancing, Ballet, and Scottish Country Dancing ASAP and LOVED all of them. After college I begged my... Continue reading
