Mmmm...yes my house smells like strawberries! Go grab a box (or two!)I'm having fun looking for new ways to use strawberries!
Last night I made one of my frequent "oops we're out of milk again" trips to the grocery store and stumbled on an amazing deal for strawberries! They had a half-flat full of ripe, local berries for $3.99! So, in a joyous moment of springtime fever I bought two! Now... Continue reading

In my attempts at keeping a semi-clean house I try to avoid using toxic chemicals. In the past I have entertained visions of myself mixing homemade cleaning concoctions from vinegar and baking soda, but that task has always landed at the bottom of my to-do list, right below "finish the... So, tonight I've been engaging in two of the activities that help me relax: baking and reading. I just wrapped up Water for Elephants which was awesome (I can't wait to see the movie!) so I was on the prowl for a new book. After a fun trip to the... Continue reading

I think they are closing very soon!! The children's books had very little selection left, but there were plenty of cookbooks--hopefully you can find something fun!

Thanks, although I think the cake part wasn't so stellar. Note to self: next time you do extensive decorating just use cake mix ;) I need to go back to TJ's and find out what those candies are called--I forgot, but they were yummy weren't they?

Yes, Target has a good selection but I discovered even more products by going to the Method webpage. You can place items in the shopping cart and order them through I ordered the playroom cleaner that way and also a hand soap with a dispenser shaped like Mickey Mouse. I'm so excited to show that to N! I'll post a pic once I receive them.

I've had that phrase floating through my head for a while now and I've been pondering the implications. Normally I associate "use it or lose it" with maintaining a condition one is in. For example, keep exercising or else you'll lose muscle. Keep stimulating you mind otherwise you lose brain... Continue reading

I am in love with Method cleaning products! I constantly use the cucumber scented multi-surface cleaner--it's aromatherapy disguised as a cleaning product. I also like their antibacterial cleaners--I feel like my house is getting sanitary without harsh chemicals. I was browsing their products and found out they have a spray... Continue reading

My toddler has been maintaining a long-lasting obsession with Elmo, so for her birthday party I promised her Elmo cupcakes. I began searching for ideas on the web to see how other people created cupcakes resembling that cute furry monster. I found lots of great ideas for creating red "fur"... Continue reading

I have always loved a hot bath at the end of a long day. Maybe this love is rooted in my many childhood hours spent playing in the tub. These days I don't need toys to keep me happy--just something yummy smelling to add to the water, a few candles... Continue reading

The Borders' bookstore in downtown San Diego will be closing its doors in a few weeks, so I ventured over there this afternoon to see what deals I could score. Here is my "book haul" Well, actually DVDs, a CD, a game and a bunch of books. I was hoping... Continue reading

Naptime sometimes leads to a short period of chaos, hopefully followed by calm. After a lovely sun-filled morning outside playing in the park, I managed to cajole my daughter inside. As she insisted on staying downstairs because she wanted to color with sidewalk chalk, I carried my crying baby upstairs.... Continue reading
