Neat! I used to do Cats Cradle when I was younger but I wasn't very skilled beyond that.. regardless I'd love the items for my kids!
Wow, this is so incredibly generous! If I happened to win I'd most likely get the M.I.N.I Mac bag

Holy moly! This is so exciting! I'd love a chance to win!!!
I feel like I'm swimming in ideas lately. Ideas for books, gardens, breakfasts the kids will chow down on, playdates for a cause...ideas that laid dormant all winter but are popping out sort of like tulips or some other cheesy spring comparision that would normally make me flinch to say.... Meet Daffodil Having a baby goat on the homestead's so nice. She's a bit shy (hello moving into a new barn with three dudes) will do that, but luckily she's still with her momma! Pictures to come of Zena (she came with the name and knows it, but I'm slowly... Continue reading

I would love this - we tried one issue and LOVED IT and it hasn't been in my budget to try more!

Sometimes we get lucky and in all the shit life throws you (mainly a sick Dad..) a rainbow appears : ) The good stuff: -I found a new source for raw milk and it's a 45 minute drive but a beautiful one and we land (and pick up our milk)... Continue reading

The other day Paige said to me "we have everything we need right here momma.." She's totally right. We have a roomy house filled with treasures in every nook and cranny, beautiful toys that inspire hours of play inside out out..we have shelves of books on all sorts of subjects... Continue reading

This weekend: instead of Easter egg hunts and baby chicks on homesteads I spent most of my time in the hospital with my Father. His wound turned out to be MRSA and Friday afternoon Phil took over kid-duty so I could do the bossy daughter in the hospital thang. It's... Continue reading

I never save my posts and halfway through this one poof! My computer decided to stop listening. March is my least favorite month. It's so confusing - one week it was warm enough for trips to the ice cream shop and the park, Saint Patricks day parades with no jackets,... Continue reading

Today felt so busy and yet we stayed home. Some of us are still in jammies (with pirate skirts on top) and some of us didn't wear pants at all because well, why not? We were home all day and so much happened -- or felt like it did. We... Continue reading

I'd like spring please. Yesterday was mild and for awhile we were splashing in the mud, discovering little creeks, petting the goats and not worrying about freezing our bums out in the process. I can't wait to start seeds, build raised beds, clean out the barn for spring and summer... Continue reading

Sometimes it hits me all at once, the gratitude. I was just standing in the kitchen making my 409th cup of coffee (with raw heavy cream, yeah it's good..) and I peeked in to see Paige and Wyatt at work using sheets, pillows and their imaginations to make a... Continue reading

Meg - thanks! I actually spoke with someone at the farmers market, and got my fingers on some local classes I may take...and yes the reading (which is the best way to do anything, teach yourself amiright?) Leah - Uddermilk! You "apply" and if they deliver to your area you're good to go (and I'm sure they do, they deliver to most of NJ..) they also have raw cheeses, butter, meats, eggs and a plethora of yummy things and beauty stuff and household goodies. It's cash-only delivery and they are super sweet, accommodating people.
I was in the middle of writing a post about our peaceful-slow mornings when Paige came over to surprise me with a bandaid (our favorite play-thing) and splash! Knocked my steaming hot (second) cup of coffee with heavy cream all over. So much for that. No but really. I love... Continue reading

The other day we sat down and Paige finished the felt heart she started sewing her last day at homeschool co-op. Watching her licking her lips with this look of pure determination as she sewed quietly by hand filled me with a big rush of momma-love because she's growing up... Continue reading

Monday so far has been ice, snow, and slush. This weekend was lovely. We went to Medevial Times with our friends and their children and everyone had a blast! Our knight lost (wimp) but nothing beats watching Paige scream "go blue night" at the top of her lungs, just so... Continue reading

With a two year old who doesn't enjoy the cold (at all) we tend to stay indoors most days in the winter. The past few days the weather has struggled to get above 10 degrees so with the exception of one ballet class and one trip to the art store... Continue reading

I was just reading this to my daughter (who's 5) and she's interested in buying some for both her brother and herself using her birthday money. Does sweet Lupine take PayPal by any chance ;) Please email me:

It's so easy to look at my week and feel discouraged..we had a nice day though. My brother came over and we talked and Paige took him down to the goats to show off their winter coats (and show off her splashin' in the mud skills..) it occured to me... Continue reading

My week looked so promising. And it all went to shit. Tuesday I had this feeling - the kind of big sister feeling where you check on your brother because it's 3pm and you haven't heard from him all day. And you find out he overdosed. After two years of... Continue reading

Longest blog break ever! Everytime I sat down to write something my mind would go completely blank and I'd just stare at an empty page wondering what to write about..we are finally well here! Not sure if we had the flu (which is rampant round' these parts..) or something flu-like.... Continue reading
