quick weekend getaway.
BAD NEWS : Their original vacation was unexpectedly cut short because he needed to attend some extra training prior to deployment. GOOD NEWS : He weekend time to spare. GREAT NEWS : She had some Southwest credit to spend on a flight. BEST NEWS : They made their own unexpected change of plans ...

summer minibook update #11.
Back again! I am still up in Sacramento with my parents so I am still sort of working "on the road." I always feel out of sorts when I am not at my desk with my stuff, but so far, I am keeping up pretty well. I added a clothing tag right into the book rings and then used a date stamp and ...
Wedding Wednesday: Wedding invites!
The thing that has been consuming my life last week was... my wedding invites! Here are some "sneak peaks" of them with my iPhone.. I hope you enjoy! I've LOVED using some new washi tape! Continue reading

Congrats Elise! That's so exciting!
I just graduated college in May with a graphic design degree and a business minor and you have been the BIGGEST inspiration to me, even before I graduated. Your savvy business sense and willingness to take RISKS and do what you LOVE is inspirational and amazing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, trials, and successes.
business goals progress in quarter two.
As I was gearing up to start writing this post last week, I stumbled on this blog post from April 2007. I was a senior in college and graduating in a month with a business major. I was jobless, but clearly hopeful. I wish I could go back to that Elise from four years ago and give her a high five...

This is really cute! But what about when it gets dirty/you get sick of the fabric? Would you just rip it out and sew it on again? Just wondering :-)
project 8 of 26 / a camera strap.
Okay. So this is up there on the Not Too Exciting list. But I've got a long way to go to get to 26 projects by February so we're rolling with it. I never use a camera strap. Ever. In general, I only use my big camera around the house so it's never in harms way. But, before we left for vacation...
Wedding banners
As a wedding photographer, I love the idea of wedding banners. They add a great "prop" that couples can use that can be fun, and add something "extra" later on when they want to send thank you notes, announce their new name, or shout from the rooftops that they are... Continue reading

Hi Elise! Congrats on finding exercise that you are so addicted to! It's hard to find something you REALLY love. I have yet to fall in love with running, but I do love being on my bike! :-) Too bad the bike doesn't "work" as many body parts as running, etc :-/
I'm with Robin-- please let us know what you think of the DVDs!! There's no classes in my area, and I want to try this out! :-)
a month of bar method.
Remember this post? I said I'd report back. As mentioned, I ended up buying an "unlimited classes in 30 days" package. And then (happily) I made it to 17 more classes during the 30 days. THE PROS : I still shake like a leaf during the sets which means my muscles are being challenged. I no longe...
These look great Elise! Thanks for reminding me of Summer Camp summers and best friends :-)
I have been anxiously waiting for a chance to go to the craft store to grab some thread to make my own!
friendship bracelets / summer story two.
A fantastic photo of brightly colored friendship bracelets - of the old school woven variety - popped up on Pinterest last week and I couldn't get it out of my head. (Here's the photo and here's the blog post it came from, complete with tutorials.) I dug through my craft supply box for the ...

Hi Elise!
I'm working on my own shop right now and would love to send the cards that I'm planning on selling in the clear envelopes that you do-- where do you get them?
Thanks so much!

What podcasts do you like to listen to while you run/in general?
running and half-marathon training : tips & tricks.
I'm not a doctor, or an expert, or even that good at this yet. But I would like to share a few tips and thoughts from my experience. You can read more about my "relationship" with running here, but long story short, I went from hating running to being a causual runner to enjoying running to be...
Your thoughts on... RSVPs
I'm currently sitting here struggling with a major "invitation" question... To have RSVP cards (that guests send back) or not? There are so many options out there now-a-days... cards, postcards, calls, online RSVPs, etc. Originally the plan was to do online RSVPs on the wedding website (that I'm self-hosting and... 65 miles is amazing. It's 65 miles more than I could do! I've so admired your drive and how much you have fallen in love with running since the beginning of the year. It's an inspiration!!
may wrap-up & june goals.
June! You made it! Good to see you. May was... a running month. I got 65 miles in. Which is short of my goal of 75 - but not by much. And I can't complain about sixty-five-freaking-miles. So I won't. The big test of whether or not it was all worth it is THIS SUNDAY when I try to stay upright f...

I'm sure you'll be super motivated. Plus, you can completely set your own hours! (That's what I would love, love, love!)
on the horizon + updates.
Lots on my mind the past few weeks and I am going to dump it all here, look at it and figure out what's next. Maybe it will help. Maybe it won't. New : I've created an extra little section with photos and links to everything summer minibook related. It's going to continue growing as I work o...
I wish I was in the CA area so I could come to the class! I love the idea of learning a wide variety of "new skills." I would be SUPER interested in the bookbinding, and maybe a "mini" mini-book workshop?
Your list is super inspiring. I'm so excited to see what's to come!
Do you think you will be more productive/creative with Paul gone? Or less? I'm always SO MUCH more productive when my fiancee isn't around... but I've never really gone as long as you two will be apart.

summer minibook update #4.
More than likely, your summer is going to include an event or two where you take lots of photos. My first one happened last weekend at the wedding we attended and we have a few more little trips scheduled the next few months. I am planning on making a grid similar to the one shown above for al...
