Texas born and bred. Never owned cowboy boots.I think chasing cows is just rude. Three kids, two cats, no cows. And married to my best friend.
Interests: cats(obviously), four-year olds, chocolate, writing, college loans(well, they aren't all that interesting, but they certainly do consume my life right now) and trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

When I was a kid, my mom would sometimes say she was too tired to go to bed. It seemed rather strange at the time, but now I understand what she meant. Often after a long day, I will stay awake after everyone else is asleep just to have time... Continue reading

I'm sick today. I feel rotten and I doubt that I will survive. I have the plague. "Which plague?" you ask. It doesn't matter. A plague is a plague. And I'm starting it right here. I expect that at any moment, scientists in Hazmat suits will take me away to... Continue reading

Every cat has his own unique personality. If you have never owned cats, there is no way you can really appreciate that statement. I wouldn't be able to understand this comment made about dogs. To me, dogs are nice but they sure do jump around, and why are their mouths... Continue reading

I'm one of those people who is extremely sensitive to noise. You're probably asking yourself, "So why in the world does she teach preschool?" Somehow that noise doesn't bother me because it's natural noise. I don't mind the birds singing or the wind howling either. The noise that often grates... Continue reading

To anyone who believes that my children are really named Daughter the First, BoyChild, and BabyGirl, I must admit that they are not. Their real names do not appear in my Blog in order to protect their privacy. We don't really call them these names in real life. Often we... Continue reading

Isn't life fun? It never gets boring because it's so unpredictable. Well, quite frankly, our family can't take much more excitement. Or at least some free excitement would be a welcome change. In the last couple of weeks, we have been "surprised" by a trip to the emergency room for... Continue reading

It's a little known fact that 2/15 of all four year olds are afraid of butter. Well, maybe not a fact, and maybe not all four year olds, and afraid may not be the word I'm looking for, but there were two children in my class yesterday who were brought... Continue reading

The other night Dear Husbanzo and I watched a movie called "Michael." It's about an angel (John Travolta) who changes the lives of two reporters... It sounds rather ridiculous but is actually a pretty fun movie. In one scene, the characters are in a restaurant sampling every kind of pie... Continue reading

Ten hours from now, I will be right in the middle of teaching an enthralling lesson about the people who are native to the southwestern region of America. If all goes well, the students will leave class with profound respect for all Native Americans and a deep understanding of their... Continue reading

My mom used to enjoy singing funny songs to Miss Smarty Pants and me when we were little. I'm sure that you have heard this very informative song about the dining habits of farm animals. I remember being so amused when I found out the words were, "Mares eat oats,... Continue reading

I began writing this blog on October 16, 2011 at 4 a.m. To my extreme dismay, I have become neither rich nor famous for my efforts. Yes, yes, I know I have slacked off a bit during the last two weeks, but brilliance can't be forced, and besides, my house... Continue reading

Moms get busy. We have a lot on our minds, for Pete's sake. So sometimes even the most wonderful, devoted moms are just half-way listening when their angel children ask them a question. I remember one time when I was standing at my kitchen sink, doing some kitchen sink thing,... Continue reading

I'm sitting here with Dear Husbanzo listening to Street Corner Symphony's new album, "Unpractice Makes Perfect." They are so amazing. If you aren't familiar with this group, you are missing out on some fantastic music. They are an acapella group made up of two sets of brothers and two more... Continue reading
