Haven't done much research on this one but if Kalou is unsettled at Chelsea and is looking for first team football wouldn't he be a viable option as well? Apparently Arsenal and Liverpool are looking at him but I think NUFC offers him the best chance of first team action. A good pacey compliment to Ba, Best or Big Lad.
Since this particular post was laden with stat driven text I thought I might bring up a book I recently read, "Soccernomics". It may be old news, pub. 2009 I think, but it gives an interesting statistical angle on football in general. I too thought there was a 4th after 5 weeks in Reading 06-07. But, using the Statto site, found they were 6th after 5 weeks. Still went on to finish an impressive 8th first year up.
I enjoyed the match in Columbus and would consider myself lucky it was only a 90 minute drive from home. Even the weather was reasonable considering the oven we've been living in the past few weeks. My only disappointment was most of the players exiting straight for the locker room and not coming to the south end like Steven Teylor did. I'll forgive them. Toon Toon!
I'd take Larsson over Marveaux. He may not be as creative, but is productive, a free kick threat and hasn't suffered the niggling type injuries that Marveaux has. So all said and done, Marveaux MAY have been a better buy but I guess only time will tell. If he stays healthy I'll be happy.
I've attended lots of matches at Crew stadium in the past and have always tailgated. I emailed the Crew today asking about tailgating and was told it's full on just like the first match in 1999!
Also agree 100%. THE goal this year was to stay up. Check! Top half of the table would've been a nice bonus! Didn't get it? Big deal. For the depth we have, everyone should be happy!
