Thanks Monica! Are you the Monica I met at the Shelter Shuffle 5K? You should have said hi! Although I don't know how responsive I was right after I finished running, haha. How did your relay team do?

Oh yes, I DEFINITELY went through withdrawl. I've had a few since I've finished Whole30, but I am still trying to avoid them as much as possible. It's tough though! And I was SO happy to reintroduce cheese and booze back in and not have any negative results. Phew!

I agree, it's definitely great motivation. I normally agree that $255 is WAY too high, but I think it's worth it for the NYC one.

I love to do races as part of a getaway. I've done NYC and Virginia Beach and am hoping to add more. I think it's worth it too. Obviously, haha.

This year, to run the New York City Marathon (which takes place this Sunday), it would cost $255. This cost doesn't include lodging, travel or other expenses. It's $255 just for a bib. I was one of an estimated 90,000... Continue reading

Trust me, I'm a girl who was known for her love of grilled cheese! The first few days of no grains was pretty tough, but now I am used to it. I don't even really miss them. I won't lie, the no alcohol is the absolute hardest for me. That will definitely be my first post-Whole30 treat! I think it's so interesting to see how your body reacts to it. It's been kind of crazy. I am glad I did it though. I never, ever drank plain water before, and now it's all I drink! I also sleep better and feel like I'm faster running. And the good thing about the 30 days? There is a light at the end of the tunnel! Haha :) Now, I just have to see how well I can do post-Whole30...

I definitely agree it's easier if you have a partner in crime. Thanks for the words of encouragement!

Thanks Erin! It's getting easier with time, but some days are still rough. I think I'll stick to many of the principles of whole30, but I really miss having a drink or two! :)

Whenever I travel, I have a really hard time sticking to a healthy diet. I always have the best intentions, but when I am in a car for a while I tend to get bored-hungry and end up face-first in... Continue reading

When I was injured from April to August, I really missed running. I thought about it constantly. It was a huge void in my life that I couldn't fill. But Saturday mornings were the worst. For the past two years,... Continue reading

Thanks! And I agree, I definitely cringed paying $100 for shoes that are supposed to be the same as running barefoot. I like them so far though!

Honestly, there are so many conflicting studies on running shoes, it makes my head spin. I am hoping these are my solution. :)

As runners, we tend to be pretty loyal to our shoes. I remember my first "real" running shoes, a pair of Brooks Ghosts. They were white with green and blue markings on them. I probably tried on about 10 pairs... Continue reading

As most of us runners (sadly) know, it's far too common to develop injuries from logging all those miles. Some people's bodies can handle a hundred mile a week, while other people can only handle 10. No, it's not fair... Continue reading
