{Saturday} ::: Enjoyed continuing our new(ish) tradition of making pancakes in the morning. Now that I have more of my cookbook collection with me in Australia I've been busy in the kitchen making up for lost time. This blueberry pancake recipe is from my favourite breakfast book, the superbly written... Continue reading

Love this! Reminds me of the Great North East Coast Blackout of 2003 (back when I lived in Ontario, Canada)- we had a few nights of ethereal candle-lit dinners. Great photo! I'm still working on my own {this moment}.... have just started a blog and still finding my feet with the whole photography thing. I'm not sure I'm at the point where I can really do the {this moment} idea justice. I really love reading your blog, keep up the great work!

I'll let you in on a little secret... sometimes when I'm doing the post-office/ coffee run at work, I duck into the thrift shop next door for a (very) quick browse. I justify this on the basis that I don't get a lunch break (homemade sandwich is eaten at desk... Continue reading

Apologies for my absence yesterday... Dealing with the mountain of paperwork I have been putting off was seriously stressing me out- it's not completely over with, but like Gretchen Rubin, the author of The Happiness Project, says 'best is good, better is best.' So today I'm asking myself the third... Continue reading

Beyonce has to be one of my favourite artists. Aside from her obvious beauty and ability to perform dance choreography capable of infiltrating every corner of the universe (hello, All My Single Ladies!) what I like best about her is her unbelievable, pre-drug ravaged Whitney Houston-esque talent. Crikey, this woman... Continue reading

Your guinea pig looks like she (he?) is on high alert! (But don't they always?) squeek squeek! I'm in Australia right now, but as a former east coaster, I'm keeping a close eye on the weather- stay safe!!

Pop quiz: what do ninjas, pirates, indians, and cowboys have in common? Answer: they make awesome costumes for dress-up parties! Dressed in my best cowgirl outfit I attended a party on Saturday night, entitled "so a ninja, a pirate, a cowboy and an indian walked into a bar"... Holy MOLY... Continue reading

I love recipes that call for ingredients commonly found in the fridge and pantry. With on-hand pantry-items such as chicken, carrots, onions and frozen peas, this easy-peasy chicken stew with biscuits uses basic, healthy ingredients and is perfect for those mid-week dinner dilemmas! I actually made this stew without the... Continue reading

My latest book obsession,The Happiness Project, by Gretchen Rubin (first blogged about here) has inspired me to attempt a little happiness project of my own. Although my slightly pedantic nature would have preferred to begin such an undertaking on January 1, or even the first of the month, or even... Continue reading

As you can see, this newly launched blog of mine has precisely two links so far... I'm sure the list will grow but I wish for it to do so with intention and meaning. For now I'll leave you with a new recipe I tried out over the weekend, recommended... Continue reading

After a yearlong hiatus from blogging, I've decided to embark on a new blog project. After all, I realized, it wasn't writing/ blogging I disliked per se... it was the subject matter featuring on my now defunct blog which was the problem. Writing about law school? Yawn. Solution? New blog,... Continue reading
