I am an aromatherapist and flower essence practitioner - petals and potions are my medium with which I create personal care products. My goal is to support and possibly help heal the hearts that use them. I aim to make the journey more pleasurable in even the tiniest way by a sumptuous sniff or sentilating heart quiver. I want to touch the earth gently and make a difference at the same time.

Compassion has been at the forefront of my mind these days. Not necessarily the notion but the feeling - the way it feels to be on the receiving end of compassion. Specifically, working with and in conjunction with many health care providers in managing my sons chronic health condition. Something... Continue reading

I think it is kind of evident that I revere flowers, plants and Mom Nature. This is why my work involves making elixirs and potions that support, honor and heal with the beauty of the natural world at the core. What is less evident is that when I go out... Continue reading

A favorite phrase of mine, that I have shared with some close friends, is: Mothering is not for sissies (or parenting for that matter). The amount of effort and good intentions that can seem 'lost' somewhere in limbo (or laundry or food prep or gardening or emergency contact forms) has... Continue reading

Very honored and happy to have been chosen by Rebecca of Rebel Roads for her 'Makers Gonna Make' series. My interview can be found here and in my 15 years at this I would say it is the one I am most proud of. Thanks Rebecca! http://rebelroads.com/2015/01/26/makers-gonna-make-interview-anna-wingfield/ Continue reading

There is no ’supposed to be’ in bodies. The question is not size of shape or years of age, or even having two of everything, for some do not. But the wild issue is, does this body feel, does it have right connection to pleasure, to heart, to soul, to... Continue reading

I saw my first frost (of the season) on this leaf on my walk this morning. Made me think of Robert Frost and wanted to share this little lovely: “God made a beauteous garden With lovely flowers strown, But one straight, narrow pathway That was not overgrown. And to this... Continue reading

This is my playdough that is making me extremely happy today. I made it for a playdate for Henry and a friend, and his friend's mom and I liked it as much or more as they did. It is actually my first time making it and it worked like a... Continue reading

After the experience of knowing and loving her and our family during this journey I am forever changed. She was diagnosed with polycystic kidney diesease (PKD) at the age of 2 and... Continue reading

I am so enjoying marking special days or prayers with mandalas. It feels very sacred and is so easy and satisfying to do with whatever nature is around (no calories either - tee hee). My youngest son and I made this Mandala for The Full Blood Moon last night (with... Continue reading

I Happened to be Standing I don’t know where prayers go, or what they do. Do cats pray, while they sleep half-asleep in the sun? Does the opossum pray as it crosses the street? The sunflower? The old black oak growing older every year? I know I can walk through... Continue reading

“Wish on everything. Pink cars are good, especially old ones. And stars of course, first stars and shooting stars. Planes will do if they are the first light in the sky and look like stars. Wish in tunnels, holding your breath and lifting your feet off the ground. Birthday candles.... Continue reading

I have a thing for words. When I find one I love I often just think of it and roll it around in my mind and on my tongue. Many times it becomes the inspiration for a product like it did in this case. Funny that they both start with... Continue reading

The pink jasmine blossoms are always the first to remind me. Soon they will be in full bloom and I will put them in a goblet of water under the moonlight and drink my 'flower-fairy-moon-essence' the following morning. And then ther are the fruit tree blossoms all flirty and pink... Continue reading

Lingering in Happiness After rain after many days without rain. it stays cool, private and cleansed, under the trees, and the dampness there, married now to gravity, falls branch to branch, leaf to leaf, down to the ground where it will disappear--but not, of course, vanish except to our eyes....
