Those sunflowers! Especially the deep red ones. We planted ours late so no blooms yet but they are growing taller every day. Our first year with a yard/garden of our own. Just the sunflowers. And some pumpkins. And a lot of invasive species clearing. Next year, a wee veggie garden. I think we can do it :)

I was thrilled to discover two lilac bushes in the yard of our new house. I too filled vase after vase with them; they are my favourite. The season has been and gone here in the Canadian Pacific Northwest but it was delicious while it lasted!
