Last weekend our good friends Jayne and Neil celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Hello Janet, Thank you for your comment. Yes my Aunt has a picture of my Gt Grandfather in that uniform too. The Port Sunlight historian recently interviewed her and looked at the photo album with these pictures of Thomas Holden and his family for a future exhibition on early residents of Port Sunlight. Did you go to the 125th year celebration exhibition? There is a page "Port Sunlight 125" on Facebook? Thomas died just before your relative became captain so perhaps you are correct that he took over although I think Lever Brothers likely had a fleet of barges by then. However it sounds as though you lived very close to my Gt Grandmother Elizabeth Holden who lived there until the 1950's. Almost all of her children worked in the soap factory. If you are interested you can find pictures of them on my Toohey Holden tree on ancestry.com. I agree the turners should to have gone to London. Good luck with your singing! Pam
