curses
What's wrong with this picture? Do you see it? Look closely . . . two different stitch patterns. How did I not notice this until last night? No one will notice, but I think it's going to bug me. The boys and I have colds and sore throats, a back to school tradition, sigh...
uh, pretend you are Frank...he wouldn't notice the pattern shift, but he would tell you they look nice.

a multi-tasking mailbox
Noticing the rusty mailbox, I threw a vinegar soaked piece of silk on top of it. Throughout the day I'd move it around, in spite of the few "What is that!?!?" comments from the boys. Later, instead of composting the cherry pits from lunch, I wrapped them in the rusted silk, and steamed t...
hey you, not knowing i was camping in the 'rain shadow' of mt rainier last solstice weekend, we had our share of 'you-know-what." yes, shades of drizzle drazzle. galore. and out of that funk came the twin of your bundle of lushmommy-an entire pound of morels! all the while i was spying other dyeing materials thinking, let's do a dye workshop in the woods! what say ye?
yum
In keeping my promise to my spinning wheel, of providing lots of color and texture for her next go-around, I pulled out this "Sorpresa" Moonshine Mix from LushMommy and just teased the fibers apart with my fingers, rather than carding it. And spun it into a chain-plied pile of...

"Tiger's Eye" spun from a Loop batt . . .but what I'm really excited about is . . . They came. . . with five big LOUD noise making trucks and rigs and many men with cigarettes and cigars standing around for seven hours. The power was turned off for hours, causing me a lot of worry ...

mark making
Just puzzling some bits and pieces together. I used a piece of my "soft sheet". Some of you from Jude's classes might remember. It's a sheet from my childhood, cotton and covered in pink roses. I thought it was from my Grandma Rosee (because of the roses), turned out it was from Gran...

half way to who knows where?
The daily squares were started half a year ago. Usually referred to as "the squares", as heard on Saturday and Sunday mornings, "Shhhh, don't talk to Mama, she's doing her square". Week days they happen in silence, with tea and morning light, after everyone has gone. It's also goes...
