I think people are overinterpreting what i've written a bit. I'm not in any way saying that book publishers should be peer reviewing these sorts of works; if people want to write and publish them, they have every right to. I'm also making no claims about what the most efficient form of peer review is. All i'm trying to do is illustrate what can go wrong when people don't subject their ideas to critical review of some sort.
