Beaver Knows Bass
There are so many great bass fishing lakes and fishing guides in Florida that it is almost mind boggling to comprehend. The sheer number, size, location and scope of these lakes is overwhleming for the average angler to understand much less know how to target and fish these bodies of water. But...
ESPN radio commented this morning on how former big time schools are not recruiting well this year – they mentioned Texas, Tennessee, USC and Miami. They commented that we had only gotten 1 of the top 20 players from Florida (they weren’t even sure of that).
National Signing Day 2013
College football fans the moment you have all been waiting for has finally arrived: Today, Wednesday, February 6 is National Signing Day 2013! The recruiting process is over, scholarship offers have been made and now it is time for things to get serious and for the young and talented high scho...
Al wants this recruiting class locked and loaded by Sunday. DK had the offer, but wouldn’t commit to Barrow and the U was not willing to wait for DK’s decision until Wednesday. Who knows what the U knew, but they forced DK’s hand and Harris is now lashing out in response. DK just got his first adult lesson and Harris just realized Al is a chess grandmaster.
Flashback: National Signing Day 2012
Three or four years from now, when it is all said and done, the University of Miami's 2012 recruiting class may go down in history as THE class that turned it all around for Miami and restored the Hurricanes to their rightful place among college football's elite programs. In terms of quality,...

Legends Of The Fall: Part Trois
Just when you thought as a fan that it was safe to enter our "Legends of the Fall" contest and that this simple little exercise was going to be easy you suddenly got a rude awakening, right? Shirley, uh, I mean surely, you would think that the reporters who are paid real money to be closest to t...
Monday night update: Al Golden addresses numerous issues
UM’s Al Golden will address print reporters at his season-ending press conference on Tuesday.
In the meantime, here are some highlights of what he told WQAM during two interviews Monday – his weekly segment with Joe Rose and an afternoon appearance with Jorge Sedano:

Now Ain't That The Truth?

From the Miami Herald – Eye on the U. A blogger’s case for Duke being first team all-ACC!
“Plain and simple... DUKE GOT ROBBED of the honor he deserved. They gave it to the senior Ellington instead of the far more deserving freshman.
This my friends is as close to a TRAVESTY as I have ever seen. Duke played 12 games while Ellington played 11, but this is NOT even close. NOT by a long shot. The ACC should be ashamed of itself. Actually, I think a stir should be created out of this injustice. The kid deserves his honors. GIVE IT TO HIM!
Here's the evidence:
DUKE JOHNSON:
- Rush Yards: 957
- Yards per Carry: 6.9 yd/carry
- Receiving Yards: 221
- Return Yards: 892
- All Purpose Yardage: 2,070
- Rushing TD's: 10
- Receiving TD's: 1
- Return TD's: 2
- Passing TD's: 1
- Total TD's: 14
ANDRE ELLINGTON:
- Rush Yards: 959
- Yards per Carry: 5.2 yd/carry
- Receiving Yards: 197
- Return Yards: 153
- All Purpose Yardage: 1,309
- Rushing TD's: 8
- Receiving TD's: 1
- Return TD's: 0
- Passing TD's: 0
- Total TD's: 9”

+7 and 5!
The football team exceeded most of the experts’ expectations, it still fell short of the blogger’s expectations, but this is a tough crowd full of incredibly knowledgeable people.
Time to hit the weight room and get stronger across both lines; we need to be able to run the ball for a score when facing first and goal and the D line needs to create pressure and stop dancing and hand wrestling.
Golden has earned the right to make his own decisions; I trust he will make the right one.
The future is bright – I foresee a 9-3 or 10-2 regular season next year and winning our Divison. Our final record being 11-3 or 12-2, setting us nicely for our run in 2014.
Game Day Blog: UM vs Duke

"Hiring a mutant from Philly to coach defense in a BCS league because of what he did in the MAC against teams that finished under .500 in conference play."
No really, that's what it says.

That is certainly one definition!
I don’t think any one disagrees that our deficiencies (and there are many) on defense will need to be addressed at the end of the season. My frustration with the Offense is that they are our strength, but in key situations they are not coming through! I thought the 3rd quarter was probably our best quarter all year with the D making stops and the O milking the clock and controlling the flow of the game.

Today’s game was not about all of a sudden having a great defense. We know the body of work the defense has done over the season and they were missing 3 starters – not sure why anyone expected the defense to all of sudden be lights out better.
Today’s game was about becoming bowl eligible and the defense came through in the third quarter, but we all knew it was just a matter of time.
Today was about having a 3 points lead and the ball and going 3 and out. Today was about having a 5 points lead and going 3 and out again. Our strength failed to get a first down and bleed the clock and left it up to our reliable defense to make the stop. Really – what is the definition of insanity?

Now it is about to get real. And by real, I mean serious. As in really serious. Over the next three weeks at Sun Life Stadium the 2012 Miami Hurricanes' football season will be determined to be a success or failure as UM faces three straight ACC teams at home in Miami. And the UM Ibis called me...

Even though we all were not able to be there in person it is apparent that the spirit and presence of Canespace was alive and well in Chicago. Several Canespacers such as PBCFR13, Hassan and Mia Chi Cane 98 made the trip North to Soldier Field, enjoyed the relatively cool weather and even to...

The Canes will forever be grateful to ND for providing tonight’s opportunity. OJT is over and tonight is our coming out party on national TV. In the gridiron, our young canes are fearless, cocky, arrogant and yes, unpredictable. But just like Ali did to Liston, tonight we are shocking the world!

Stewart – youth has not fear!
“It may just be me, but how is Miami (4-1) seemingly flying so far under the radar? Sure, the 'Canes got blown out by K-State, but that loss looks better now that the Wildcats are in the hunt for the Big 12 title. As an Irish fan, I'm a little worried about the game this weekend”..
