Nope, I do this for almost all the bags I make and I've never once had it split or weaken over time using that technique. Just be sure to reinforce it a few times and use a zig zag stitch. Glad you liked the post!

Hi Cassandra! For a quilt that's 2 yards long, you can set your uploaded design to the "basic repeat" layout on the design page, and input '2' in the quantity box.

Everyone told me how fast this month would go by, and now I see what they meant. Last Tuesday, one week from yesterday, was my last day living alone in my Midtown, NYC apartment. Looking back on it now I can say with confidence that coming here was one of... Continue reading

From downtown on Saturday all the way to Uptown on Sunday, this past weekend was all about the extremes of Manhattan. I headed uptown to 89th and 5th to see the Guggenheim Museum. This building is a brilliant masterpiece by my most favorite architect, Frank Lloyd Wright and opened in... Continue reading

On Saturday I decided to spend the whole day exploring the financial district. I saved this trip for the weekend because there is so much to see and do in this district, which is at the southern most tip of the island of Manhattan. The 6 train dumped me out... Continue reading

While I can't say that I've ever followed baseball (or any sport for that matter) or paid attention through an entire baseball game, I've somehow still always been huge Yankee's fan. Maybe it's because I grew up with the sound of Yankee's games on in the background, my family always... Continue reading

"There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born here, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size and its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter — the city... Continue reading

Being here alone has taught me to enjoy my own company. As self-involved as that may sound, I beleive it is very important to learn to enjoy doing things on your own, especially things that you might typically do with someone else like to go a movie or a sit... Continue reading

This post is a bit delayed, but I was so excited to have my friend Jenn come up from Philly to spend last weekend with me in NYC. Jenn and I used to work together at Spoonflower and she is one of my all time favorite people I've ever worked... Continue reading

My friend Roxanne works in the East Village, so on Thursday I decided to take the subway down and explore the area for a couple hours before meeting up with her after work. Of course as soon as I emerged from the subway terminal it was pouring rain and I... Continue reading

The city at night is so dreamy. I went for a walk/run (where I run until I can't anymore which is about 2 blocks) tonight at sunset and observed some things. #1. People smell great at night in New York City. There is a very broad spectrum of smells in... Continue reading

What can I say about Brooklyn. It's the most populous of NYC's 5 buroughs, but at the same time feels so much less crowded and cramped than Manhattan. What I found so charming about Brooklyn was the strong sense of community, at least where I was in Greenpoint. Just walking... Continue reading

Okay so day 2 was more of me just trying to figure out what is where and who is what. I did a lot of walking around, trying to scope out the most hospitable coffee shops where I could camp out for several hours with a solid interweb connection. Found... Continue reading
