so at my job all damaged discounts are 10% period we have a button that will only allow us this 10%. smudge of makeup 10% entire zipper missing 10%. this lady comes up with a xmas scarf that is a packed as a gift item so its a scarf with a ribbon and bow (which you complete throw away and have no use on the item) She kept going on and on about "oh the bow is missing, and this and that" So I told her the bow has nothing to do with the scard, so I was not giving her a discount, so then it magically became frayed and pilly and looked dingy. All this haggling over $0.29. Oh then I dont want it. "ma'am its only 3 dollars, it doesnt need a discount but if you want one, its $0.29" She did not buy said scarf

I once had a lady freak out because our signs which clearly read Buy 1 Get 1 50%, she exploded because of course its not ringnig at 50% off. I went and showed her the sign with her (just in case we accidently had the wrong sign up) and was met with this jem.." I came here to shop, NOT TO READ" Good luck with your life lady....

i have women constantly coming back complaining about how their brand new watch battery is already dead.. Did you take out the little clip to stop if from running while it was on display or in transit to the store? I just pop it out and VOILA..I also once had a lady complain that her shoulder strap from her purse was missing, months after it was bought.. I opened the still never used purse and showed her the strap was neatly folded inside.. Some people need padded walls and a helmet..

we had to close one of our locations too because the lease paperwork sat on their desk. The mall came by one day and told the location basically "why arent you closed yet, blah blah starts construction in 4 days" There was nothing the mall or our end could do, so we got moved to a really shitty place in the mall and ended up closing later that year anyway. Not sure if that person in headquarters was fired or not.

I was managing a closing store once, and we got sooo tired of the questions about returns and price exchanges. I wrote on the wall with a big fat sharpie "No Returns" and "No Price Adjustments," yet still people would ask. We got burned pretty bad on that store, apparently a store wanted to remodel and wanted to take 1/2 our space, so the mall raised our rent to which our headquarters closed us down. We sold EVERYTHING. lights out of the ceiling, the mirrors in the fitting rooms, the sink and toilets in the break/bathrooms. The new store was peeved but it wasnt my problem anymore. Also on a fun note we had a lady bang on our gate the day after we finally liquidated. Wanted to return. Told her no, but its just one thing-blah blah blah..

pretty sure thats illegal in most states. However it would be his word against yours since there was no paperwork, no clock in/out etc. I would still see if you can call headquarters or a manager above him.
