{this moment} ~ A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for... Continue reading

Thats a really cute dress, I think that may work for my rogue 3/4 yard! Have you started your citronelle yet? How hard are those-I've been drooling over those but haven't really heard if they are doable for a beginning sewer.

Oh this makes me so twitchy to do a quilt. I was up in Bainbridge Island yesterday and they had a finished quilt top on display of the quilt I have been eyeing for a while, I took it as a sign that its time to start it! Maybe I'll sneak off to the fabric store this weekend...
How funny this is the exact blog post I had planned for today. Here is my garden-http://www.thislittlebluehomestead.com/my-blog/2014/05/a-garden-tour-may-14th.html In the pacific NW we have lots of green and lots of growth, already doing some early harvesting!

So last week my local yarn store or LYS for those in the know, (I'm only recently so I may be doing it wrong) had a sale! A 15% off all yarn sale and I made a list checked it twice, called my mom and got her list and headed... Continue reading

Looks lovely! The garden store looks amazing, I always eye the salad bowls, they just seem too cute, but my garden is literally exploding with lettuce right now so I think it wrong to get one, maybe next year I'll plant my own!

Ugh the deer! When I was a kid we had a blackberry busy and every year we would go out there and say tomorrow the berries will be just ripe and the deer knew it and would come and eat all our blackberries-stinkers! Right now my biggest predator is my children who like to rip the leaves off my tomato starts and pull off underripe fruits and veggies and feed it to the dog...sigh

Glad to know I'm not the only one! I love the idea of walking to school for the kids, I think it's that Norman Rockwell painting ideal right? Lucky you to have options so close!

I admit, I've become a bit of a sewing fool. My baby finally started napping by herself and now everytime I place her gently down I book it downstairs to start sewing. Granted there is some house cleaning and other silly chores that must be done but I've been sewing... Continue reading

Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting a local waldorf school. In Portland we are lucky enough to have quite a few in the area and I really wanted to see how it played out in an actual classroom. The answer?-beautifully. We were able to see the children playing and... Continue reading

Hope you had a wonderful birthday! I enjoy reading different schooling styles as well, my oldest is still 2 and a half so we have a bit to go, but I tend to love Waldorf, that seems to hit closest to home, but oh there are so many choices, especially here in Portland where we have a school dedicated to almost any theory you like.
I love the wooden shoe tulip fest, we went too early this year and it was windy and cold, this week would have been a good week to go! I'm so grateful that its warm here in Portland, but I agree the 88 yesterday was a bit too warm! Can't wait to see the new stuff in the shop, I'm just finishing up my first bunny and think she is so cute!
