Contact the Department of Labor... the company was required to pay you for all those times you came in for scheduled training even if they didn't bother to do the training. They have to pay you for the time you came in.

They should have charged the tables an extra $20 to pay for all the salt and pepper that had to be replaced.

If she was calling out due to her disorder, there actually was a possibility that it was illegal to fire her. It depends on whether her condition fell under FMLA conditions.

The sign on the door doesn't really let people know you are closed until after they've taken the time to go to your business. The big question is whether your website/google result shows that you are closed on Sundays, and if you have anything on your phone message that says your business hours. I take public transit and I've dealt with a 1.5 hour trip to get to a business that said they were open (per their website) only to find different permanent hours on their door and they were closed. I'd be pretty angry to have wasted a chunk of my day too.

That would be a nasty email to the company along with the picture showing the comparison!

Every company I've ever worked at had a rule you couldn't have your children (or family members) work directly under you. Doesn't this company have that rule?

I worked at a company with a crazy coworker. One day she stormed into an upper level managers' meeting and accused them of all sitting in that room and deliberately sending electric charges into her computer to shock her while she typed. I have NO idea why she was never fired.

You forgot to finish this. Since you are the daughter of the owner, you DID go tell the owner what happened and how you were treated and the deliberate ignoring of the theft, right? And the manager was fired??

If the dogs are loose, the owners owe the driver lunch. Dogs aren't supposed to be allowed to run free, unless this was maybe on some giant property surrounded by a fence.

All of my brackets in the above story were cleared out so it makes no sense. * "the lights on the modem suddenly turn [color] * get an error message that says [blah blah plus an error code]

I was at home and our internet wasn't working. I heard my husband call a help desk. "My internet doesn't work." ... Pause while tech says something..."It just won't work"... I can hear the tech asking what happens ... "I try to use the internet and it doesn't work!". This was driving me crazy so I walked over and grabbed the phone from him and said "when entering any address on the web browser, the lights on the modem suddenly turn and we get an error message that says that also says to contact this help desk.". I could swear that tech would have asked me to marry him if I'd been available, he was so happy to talk to me. LOL

Most likely customer called information who automatically connected them and they would like the number for future reference.

As soon as she picked out steaks that were the same size, I would have handed back her original steak and told her that these were the same size that she was requesting and take a measuring stick to the one she picked AND the ones she was returning to prove it.

And security was called, the tapes reviewed, and she was banned from the entire mall for attempted grand larceny and for attempted destruction of property??? Right?

Technically it is vanilla ice cream. I have a mint chip ice cream recipe that I make at home and it contains both vanilla and mint extracts, therefore if you leave out the mint extract it IS vanilla ice cream.

Exactly what the previous commenter said. Don't ticket, tow! They are blocking an emergency lane so that needs to be kept clear!

Wow.. I hope your friend doesn't have narcolepsy. If so, getting fired for it would have been illegal. I used to work with someone like that.

Refusing to allow hydration should have initiated a call to corporate AND a complaint to OSHA.

Technically it was your fault because you are supposed to keep to the right against oncoming people/traffic, and you veered left instead.

I doubt she wanted to carry the fish home without water. Most places that sell fish can scoop water and the fish into a plastic bag to take home so that you don't have to buy a container at that location. She probably already had a bowl or container she wanted to use and didn't want to pay extra for your container and only wanted the fish (plus water).

She was partially correct, it is paper that has been waxed, not paper made completely of wax so it is waxed paper. :-)

It's illegal to drive with that handicap hanger attached to the mirror.

I'm glad the dumbasses got caught, but I'm concerned by the fact that neither of them could open the back door in the storeroom. Those types of doors should be able to open from the inside otherwise it's a fire hazard so why wouldn't the doors open??

So you rewarded her rudeness? Please everyone, don't give in to tantrums!
