I do feel like that should have been Joe Blanton standing in the background, looking in the door.

BAP: I keep waiting for a trade with Texas. Their minors are full of Toolsy McToolshed players who are at various points on the put-it-togetheredness spectrum.

BAP: my guess is the holdup on the Kemp trade is holding up the Rollins trade, since one of the reported pieces is still SD property.

Love to see Byrd flipped (hehe) for a B-minus-ish prospect and have Colby Rasmus brought in. If we brought back Delmon we could have an outfield comprised of the #4 prospect from 2011 (Brown), #3 from 2009 (Rasmus) & #1 in 2006 (Young). Might be the greatest outfield of all time as determined by former prospect rankings.

Manny striking out...That brings back great memories.

I'd love to see the Phillies use their cost savings on traded veterans for the Colby Rasmus & Brandon Morrows of the world. damaged goods with big upsides. Most likely though, that money will go to equity payouts to ownership.

BAP: I'd be happy if Lee could hit WS homeruns at a similar clip to Blanton. Also Joe Blanton... slim possibility. - I found the juxtaposition humorous.

What are the chances that by tomorrow morning, Dodgers have a better every day lineup than they did yesterday, but they also have a better farm, while Rube will just have Zach Lee

The return on Bastardo is suboptimal, but {shrug} oh well. I'll be disappointed if we don't get a real prospect or 2 back for Jimmy though.

If the Dodgers are getting back Rollins, I could see Seager as the more likely return, because they'd have a SS but still need a CF (Kemp's terrible in CF) if the Deal was Hamels & Revere, I could see us getting back Pederson instead as then they'd have a CF but need a SS.

MG: W's command of the English language was stunning.

Juums: Galvis made AA at 19! and ops'd .468 there.

Juums: Howard had way more RBIs than Soler did. Cubs might need to throw in more than one guy to make that swap work.

clout: great point, but where Donald & Marson went on to struggle, Betts & Swihart progressed (so far) and were much higher on the midseason update lists. Even the best prospects fail, of course (especially pitchers and catchers).

Even if we get a great return, I'll be sad to see Hamels go. I hope the juice is worth the squeeze.

Byrd to the O's makes a ton of sense. Lost Cruz & Markakis but they don't have the prospects for a mega-trade. Don't know what a fair return from them would be. Chance Sisco? Jon Schoop? http://www.minorleagueball.com/2014/12/1/7312039/baltimore-orioles-top-20-prospects-for-2015

Clout: Those outcomes are certainly within the realm of possibility for Betts and Swihart, but those are some of the more pessimistic opinions I've heard on the pair or sound at least a year or two old, before Betts big breakout and Swihart continuing to progress..

Important week for the long term future of the franchise. The Phils don't necessarily have to do something just for the sake of doing something. Don't screw this up Rube!

Brandon Moss got traded to the Indians for not much. Those are the types of deals I would like to see Rube make. Get as many lotto tickets as you can in here, hope a couple hit.

If Charlie can fix Francouer, he should get paid triple whatever the team is paying him now.
