The Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (another FREE Sale-a-Bration product) has 2 sheets each of both large and small butterflies already colored. So I could punch them out with the Butterfly Duet punch. However, you need to trim some of them apart in order to punch them and not punch into adjacent butterflies. In our check-in convention bag at OnStage in Orlando in November there was a really fun stamp set called Amazing Life. As I was preparing for classes this month and searching for ideas, I found a great card created by Mary Deatherage. Although I changed the layout, I kept the color scheme of Poppy Parade, So Saffron and Smoky Slate and the stamped design. I never would have thought of overlapping the wording with the cake and adding the small flourish accents, but it really caught my eye! Continue reading

Here are the photos from my November class. There are lots of techniques on this gate fold birthday card, starting with inking the inside of the Woodlands Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Soft Sky and running through the Big shot. We did a lot of sponging on the Stitched Shapes circle to define the edges and color the sky and highlight the banner. Continue reading
