Well, we did it everyone. We have made it to the end of the skid mark on the fabric of space-time known as '2016'. For many people this was a hard year. We lost many great celebrities and icons, and we came out of a grueling general election campaign only to... well, you know. But there's not much I can say that hasn't been said a million times over on the internet; though I toyed with a 'fuck you 2016!' post, I ultimately decided it wasn't the worst year I have ever had, and I feel its given many people... It is upon us! Winter is here, the holidays are here, and I'm in Seattle to spend Christmas and New Years with my family. Its my favorite time of year! As we fast approach 2017 and the shit storm its sure to bring starting circa January 20th, its important to remember the spirit of the season. Whether or not you celebrate any of the traditional holidays, the spirit of joy and good will toward all is something we should all strive for. With just a few days left of 2016, let's just remember to be good to each other. So... Continue reading

Happy Thursday, CrazyTown! This week I was caught off guard by the scourge known as tonsillitis, and I've been asleep for most of the week. That is all to say I have a sub in today in the form of my favorite bad lip reading video ever made (and possibly favorite song/music video ever created). To bring you a little joy this Thursday, I present to you: Seagulls! (Stop it now), a bad lip reading. GARRIT GUADAN is an actor, musician, and award winning composer living in Brooklyn, NY. You can find him tickling the ivories and making crass jokes... Continue reading

Let's take a break from the crazy and enjoy some music! By: Garrit Guadan (Actor/Singer/Lover of Christmas) Hello CrazyTowners! I'm taking a small break from political posts this week because the magical feeling of the holidays is in the air and GODDAMMIT WE ALL DESERVE A ONE DAY BREAK FROM THE INSANITY THAT IS DJT. And that list is from 11/28. Its gotten worse. Christmas always has and always will have a most special place in my heart, so today I'm bringing you a list of my top 5 Christmas songs (non-traditional). Enjoy! 5. The Christmas Waltz, The Carpenters What... Continue reading

Hello CrazyTown. Here's the honest truth: sometimes when you're doing mad research on a topic to write about, you don't finish what you sought to write cause information. Because of that, I bring you another 'sub' writer in the form of a man who, in my mind, is practically perfect in every way. Handsome, charming, funny, informed= Trevor Noah, will you marry me? In this latest video, Trevor let's us know the best way to respond to Donald Trump, and in doing so also tells us how to respond to his supporters: logic. GARRIT GUADAN is an actor, musician, and... A game of 'call and response' 2 weeks into Trump's Election By: Garrit Guadan (Actor/Singer/Gaymer) Hello CrazyTowners! Today I would like to play a game of call and response. I'll throw out a call, you give the response! Ready? Go! CALL: Give it a chance! RESPONSE: Give racism and white supremacy a chance! CALL: Let's see what happens RESPONSE: Appointing white supremacist, openly racist, homophobic, islamophobic, misogynists to key positions! CALL: He's the president of all of us, be respectful RESPONSE: I'm ok with what is happening, and you should be too, so sit down and shut up! CALL: White... Continue reading

I've been a little empty in the head recently, CrazyTown. But even though I couldn't think of exactly what to say this week, it turns out John Oliver put it perfectly. So basically what I'm saying is this week my sub is John Oliver! Thank you John! Continue reading

Good morning Crazytown. Like most of you, I have been grappling with what happened Tuesday night, and have spent a pretty sleepless couple of nights in contemplation. Though I was not surprised by the outcome (in fact I predicted it last week), many of my friends were. While they are all in different states of the grieving process, they all have common questions: How did this happen? Who is to blame? What do we do? What do I do? I know I want to be engaged, I know I want to fight for justice, I just don't know how right... Continue reading

Hillary or Trump: Less than a week to go, and I am pregnant with worry. By: Garrit Guadan (Actor/Musician/Nostradamus Enthusiast) I love predicting things. Predicting winners for the Oscars, Tony's, Golden Globes, Emmys... its a fun tradition, and can even become a fun little party game! Drink a bottle of whiskey every time Lady Gaga doesn't get a very deserved Oscar! But this year I am playing a prediction game that I don't like. I don't like it one bit. I actually made this prediction already back in September, and while I am holding out hope, I predict that next... Continue reading

Going forward: Assuming Hillary wins, what do we do on November 9th? By: Garrit Guadan (Actor/Musician/Idealist) This post is clearly operating on the assumption that Hillary Clinton wins. So... hooray! She won! Woo! Stronger Together! I'm with her! Yay! Woo...! We... did it? Now what? Ok, ok. Hillary's presidency will of course be just fine. But what do we do after the most important election in generations? Do we go back to not having to think about politics anymore? Do we look ahead as if the last 16 months didn't just happen? Do we go back to pretending the people... Continue reading

Its not just symbolic: This time around, your vote truly does matter. By: Garrit Guadan (Singer/Musician/Frightened) Look, we haven't all been asleep under a rock for the past year. Each and every one of us has witnessed the shitstorm that is election cycle 2016, from a tough and embittered Primary on both sides to a general election that tends to leave people feeling generally like they're sucking on a turd. To save you all from the actual image, here's a cute dog admitting to it instead. While I get that some people are still upset about the whole process, something... Continue reading

If Facebook is any indicator, it appears we all watched "American Horror Story: Election" on Sunday, and now we are all more depressed than ever. It is at these times that we need a hero... and it is at these times that a heroine appears. Not all heroes wear capes. Yes ladies and gentlemen, its true. Lady Gaga is releasing her 5th studio album on October 21st, but before then she is doing a dive bar tour sponsored by Bud Light. This in addition to starring on American Horror Story, being the star of the Super Bowl half time show,... Continue reading

Why I love the way Trump talks: he makes it so easy to re-write one of Disney's most famous songs By: Garrit Guadan (Actor/Musician/Satirist apparently) By now everyone should have watched the first Presidential debate. By now you probably have also read every single piece of commentary and fact checking that's been written. What you might not have seen is a song written around an unusual word Trump spoke in the debate: braggadicious. Oh. But I would like to let it be known that I was, in fact, the first to write and perform a song parody based on the... Continue reading

[Hillary enters to Queens Don't Stop Me Now] "Hello, and thank you so much for joining us here today! I have to say it is great to be here with you all, feeling great after that small bout of (quote fingers) 'pneumonia' (end quote fingers). [cough] One moment." [Reaches for glass of water with very shaky hand, sips, stops shaking, looks up from glass] "AHHHHH I'm just fuckin' with ya! But seriously, ladies and gentlemen, on a more serious note... y'all watch the debate? You all DID see that shit, right? Now it seems like the choice shouldn't really be... Continue reading

Well CrazyTowner's, its here. Faster than you can say, "Why yes Garrit, I, Russell Wilson, will marry you!", the Spring writing term has come to an end. What a wonderful opportunity and experience it has been! I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been reading, and leave one last message that I learned from a friend I made taking the Amtrak across the country; he is an artist, dancer, director, and choreographer, and his advice was something I definitely needed to hear on my trip and advice I feel everyone in this crazy world needs to... Bernie supporters are under pressure to make a choice, but the decision is not as easy as it seems. By Garrit Guadan (Actor/Singer/Tired of this shit) Well its a week after Super Tuesday 4: The Revenge, and there seems to be a new favorite topic for people to argue about online. As the Sanders campaign begins its incremental shut down, his supporters are beginning to #feelthepressure from Hillary supporters who are saying they must vote for her in the general election. However, many of his supporters do not feel this way; labeled the "Bernie or Bust" movement by most, these... Continue reading

Can't live with 'em, definitely can't live without 'em: Why birthday's should be celebrated always! By Garrit Guadan (Actor/Musician/Old(er) Man) Another year older, another year wiser! While many people I know hate getting older, I actually love it. Its one year closer to getting an AARP card, another year closer to being able to get away with basically anything, and another year closer to my dream: eating at Denny's every day for every meal. Everyone is welcome at Denny's! With this new year, I've decided to impart my 5 best things about getting older. Enjoy! 1. You really are one... Continue reading

Well, another day, another opening weekend of a great show. Even though its been a crazy two weeks, working on this production of Singin in the Rain has reminded me how fortunate we are to work in a field where we are paid to play, paid to create something, and paid to do what we love. Its not always easy in this business, but when the work is there, the talent is there, and the desire is there, the end product is something truly wonderful! So in my last string of video posts before I will have time to actually... Continue reading

Well, its happened. As I'm sure you've read by now, North Carolina's Governor has just passed one of the largest anti-LGBT laws in history. Of course this law includes not allowing trans people to use the restroom that matches their gender identity, but rather requires them to use the bathroom which matches their gender at birth (an issue I've covered before here). I totally can't imagine anything going wrong when he is forced to use the women's bathroom! (Shawn Stinson/via Al Jazeera) But Funny or Die has found a way North Carolina can turn this around! Enjoy North Carolina's newest... Continue reading

Getting white girl wasted doesn't have to be an exercise in cuntery! By Garrit Guadan (Actor/Singer/Piano Bar Entertainer) If you’re like me (which I’m sure you are because YOU ARE AWESOME), you’re still recovering from St. Patrick’s Day festivities. Truly, what better way is there to celebrate the expulsion of the snakes than getting completely shit faced and yarking green beer? Photographic evidence that there is a God. A cruel, vengeful God. I spent St. Patrick’s day working a piano bar shift, and other than telling one drunk entitled skank to leave because of her ‘tude, it was a very... Continue reading

This weekend I've been taken over by a virus of epic proportions that has left my brain mush, and my tummy very hungry somehow. As I thought, "What shall I possibly have to say through this impending doom?" I turned to the internet for inspiration and was slapped across the face with this video from Bill Maher. While he says a lot of stuff that is ultimately crap, this video is full of truth. Enjoy! GARRIT GUADAN is an actor, musician, and award winning composer living in Brooklyn, NY. Politicians are still people who may change views, and evolve. The evolution of Hillary Clinton should not be used as the basis of attack by Democrats who plan to vote. By: Garrit Guadan (Actor/Singer/Voter) The 2016 election cycle is arguably the most important election in recent memory. Coming off the heels of one of the most successful Presidency's in history, our country faces a possible course changing decision. The political landscape is one unlike we have ever seen, with the likely Republican nominee being a reality TV star who espouses bigotry, homophobia, xenophobia, and Islamophobia as a platform. Using this... Continue reading
