BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AND STAYING INSIDE AS MUCH AS IS POSSIBLE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) From today beaches along the Manly bay are all closed, including Shelly with no lifeguards for those that chose to run the guantlet. We... Continue reading

This morning's waves were a little challenging, some breaking before the point. There was plenty of discussion about whether to swim from Manly, half way or Shelly. Shelly seemed to be the commonsense approach. Rainer chose to take the surfboard out. While others chose still to go from Manly. These... Continue reading

This morning all the talk at B&B was about the predicted rain which is slowly making its way up the East Coast of Australia. While we are use to the grey sky - more recently choked with smoke and smog - one thing that is not so familiar is the... Continue reading

Great blog for a first timer Petra. Well done

It was buzzing this morning for the 7am Bold and Beautiful swim, buzzing because many are on holidays and are fulfilling their New Years resolutions by swimming with us, but also as we had two grey nurse sharks hanging around the point. The grey nurse is relatively dosile and we... Continue reading

It was an eerie kind of morning this morning with a firey red sunrise and plenty of smoke haze as the sun came up over Cabbage Tree Bay. (thanks Carol and Jenny for the additional photos) John gave us a warning about strenuous activity and making sure we all came... Continue reading

I had no idea what I was going to blog about as I made my way to Manly this fine morning. I just trusted that the universe would hand me a theme when I arrived at the surf club. First I met these lovely peeps...maybe a happiness route for todays... Continue reading

Great blog Pete - while I respect my vegan friends and their dedication to the cause - be it health or humanity - not sure I could give up my juicy steak just yet. Each to their own and glad it has made a difference to you
Nice work Elizabeth - such a lovely swim today

You will have to discuss with senior management or Shaun himself as to his KPIs and which of those that were not met - I am only aware of my KPIs which were all obtained - with a day to spare - despite the previous lower middle management trying to dilute with fake news and other ramblings

What a week its been with warmer waters, whales, grey nurses and fevers of rays but today everyone was asking "where's Shaun?" You see lower middle management hadn't met their KPIs and so with Ian away and John busy with seminars this week, top management needed some woman power to... Continue reading

Today I'm filling in for Murray and the Babewatch Crew who have their first group swim of the season on Sunday from 9am - after the morning B&B swim of course. This morning when I arrived to prepare for my 7am swim the talk was all about the hundreds of... Continue reading

We really are a wonderful bunch of people at Bold and Beautiful - generous with our support of Royal Far West, generous with our support of one another and we love a good cause. On Sunday we all collected our winter badges with our entry fee raising $1,372 for Royal... Continue reading

On Tuesday I attended the Sydney Swans Champions Dinner and it left interesting thoughts with me about how our words and deeds can be the thing that inspires another to greatness. Dane Rampe, who took out the Bob Skilton medal recounted how, in his early days at the club, it... Continue reading

What a fun morning with a few little waves to add to the excitement on our morning swim to Shelly Beach. Sping swimming is just the best. That winter chill has all but disappeared, the water temperature is back to 18 degrees and visibility is fantastic, many winter swimmers have... Continue reading

We were told to prepare for a large swell so many of us rocked up this morning prepared for a bit of excitement going out to the point. The as you drove down to the beach I'm not sure if it was disappointment or excitement that it was relatively flat... Continue reading

Apologies for the short blog today - issues with the blog camera which should be rectified by tomorrow. The surf was a little high today as we prepare to bunker down for a bit more rain so many chose to go from half way. No sign of our friend from... Continue reading

It looks like the rain and waves are behind us now for a few weeks and its back to perfect sunrises and flat seas for our Bold and Beautiful morning swim. The sunrises are creating some very picturesque shots as evidenced below with the 7amers coming back to shore. This... Continue reading

This morning as we got close to Manly Surf Lifesaving Club for our daily swim we were left a little disappointed. Our nice clear, crisp, flat area of paradise had been replaced by a bit of chop and a bit of a gloomy outlook for the day. Nevertheless the sunrise... Continue reading

The air temperature has taken a tumble over the last few days but the water remains just spectacular for our Bold and Beautiful swims. This is my favourite time to swim as the water is nice and clear, there is plenty to see and the summer crowds have all given... Continue reading

This morning there was great excitement at the surf club with John announcing the Miguel Maestre from Channel 10's "The Living Room" was making us breakfast for the first 50 people who signed the waiver agreeing that their image may be on television. John asked us to wait on the... Continue reading

This morning conditions were just perfect, flat, clearer, dusky's to see and low tide which meant it was nearly a walk to the point. A little bit of rain had us all ducking for cover - don't want to get wet until we need to. But the rain didn't bother... Continue reading

Today was a day to celebrate, friends, accomplishments and new friends at Bold and Beautiful. Paula had the customary celebratory arch for reaching her 500km. While Ted, pictured with Lainey, Charlie and Freddy celebrated his birthday. And Sophie from Austria came to see what all the fuss was about, enjoying... Continue reading

What a difference a day or two can make. From nice flat, clear swimming earlier in this week, this morning with the southerly change coming through yesterday swimming was a little sub-optimal. And to top it off when I rocked up for my regular swim this morning the 6am bait... Continue reading
