Hello, If you ever have more than one person working on the project you will need the full version. Interior design typically has a lot of casework and other similar items and since there are no in-place modeling tools in LT it is not a good choice. Also if you find any third party Interior design focused apps for Revit, they will not work for the LT version. Often you want to control the way a linked model works and you also cannot do that in LT.

Revit vs. Revit LT
What is the real difference between Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Revit LT? This is a question I get asked almost every week. So I'm going to chime in with my opinion and its only my opinion so please look at it that way. To me Revit is an authoring tool and Revit LT is primarily an editing too...
Smart Plan References and Hyperlinked PDFs with Sheet Sets
This AutoCAD tip comes from Nicholas Bowley from the IMAGINiT BSD Team: Many people have taken advantage of Sheet Sets in AutoCAD since they came out in release 2005. What most people have not figure out is how to create views and view references, not to be confused with sheets. With this workflow, titles and callouts will update automatically with sheet set and view property changes. First create your blocks, you will need a view title and a callout block. The fields for the blocks should be using SheetSetPlaceholders with the Associate Hyperlink checked as indicated below. View Title ViewTitle... Continue reading

Revit – Background Graphics Need to Match the Architect
This Revit tip come from Nicholas Bowley from the IMAGINiT BSD Team: I recently spent half a day helping someone pick up comments from the Architect on their project where the background in the consultants file did not display the same graphical representation in plan view as the architect. This could happen because of any number of reasons and in some cases several reasons. If this problem persists on every project, there are likely improvements that can be made to your template. View Range does not match Line-work came from an AutoCAD link which was turned off Category of Elements... Continue reading

Creating Rolled Plates in Autodesk’s Advance Steel
Today's post comes from James Branagan another Application Expert here at IMAGINiT..... I have had questions from customers about creating a rolled plate in Autodesk’s Advance Steel, as opposed to folded plates. Whilst Advance steel does not have a tool to create rolled plates directly there are some things we can do to approximate them. The first option we have is to use the Folded Beam option. Draw an Arc and Copy it then select the width of the plate you want to create. On the Home tab > Objects panel, click the Folded Beam. This command can also be... Continue reading

Revit vs. Revit LT
What is the real difference between Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Revit LT? This is a question I get asked almost every week. So I'm going to chime in with my opinion and its only my opinion so please look at it that way. To me Revit is an authoring tool and Revit LT is primarily an editing tool. Now you can absolutely start a project in Revit LT and get it fairly well set up. But there are some important limitations to be aware of. First look at Autodesk's site as it does list the differences between the two products... Continue reading
