I'm so glad you enjoyed this book!
NW by Zadie Smith
Reviews of this book that came out in 2012 said that it was challenging to read. I was influenced by that but took note that Jennifer spoke highly of it and now finally, I have listened to it. I loved it. In some ways the audiobook was challenging; it's almost inevitable that you miss the occas...
Yes, that is such a good description -- beautiful, intense, and mysterious! I am still turning over questions in my mind about the character's motivations. Did Trond's father bring him out for that summer just to have the extra help felling the timber? Did his father cut off communication with Trond because he saw Trond as a romantic rival with Jon's mother? Hi, Mom! I'm testing out your blog sign-in option. When I visited the Roman Baths in Bath, England with Kathy and Brooke, Bill Bryson was one of the options on the self-guided audio tour. He was, of course, a wonderful tour guide!
