This week Jonathan and I reviewed our slides with Professor Boyd and it really helped us see the upsides and areas of improvement of our presentation. The overall content of our presentation is looking good, but we need to make an aggressive stand for our ideas and the adjustments that TECT Power needs to make for their branding and recruiting efforts. In my opinion, our message for this presentation has been the "safe" message. I think we did this mainly because we were so focused on giving our clients what they wanted as opposed to giving them what they need... Continue reading

This week has been heavily focused around planning for the final report and presentation. I will say that the meeting that we had on Monday really helped Jonathan and I organize our presentation by giving us a framework to build off of. At the time of typing this, we are over half way done with the presentation. There are still some areas of the presentation that Jonathan and I need to collaborate on in order to fully align with the message that we are trying to sent to our clients. This final presentation and report really reminded me of how... Continue reading

During this week, Jonathan and I started focusing on our last deliverable, as well as our final presentation and report for TECT Power. Our last deliverable is the social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube) that help tie into the overall branding and online strategy for TECT Power. Since this project has been heavily focused around branding and increasing the recruiting efforts of new employees to TECT Power, we felt that having a presence on social media would allow for more channels for our clients to connect with their target recruits and provides more of a presence on internet searches... This week was a very rewarding yet challenging experience. Jonathan and I presented our third deliverable to our clients at TECT Power which was the branding and search engine optimization deliverable. We also contacted and met with a website designer who sat in during our meeting to see our ideas for the new TECT Power website and online strategy. The meeting went extremely well and our collaboration with the website designer and our clients was very refreshing to see. We were all on the same page as to which changes needed to be made to meet our goals for the... Continue reading

During this week, Jonathan and I continued working on our next deliverable which is due the week after spring break. This week itself was extremely hectic for me personally. I am enrolled in a study abroad program this semester that is going to Chile over the spring break period. This week I had to balance course work, client work, and preparations for international travel. This week really pushed me to the limit in terms of workload and preparation, but somehow I managed to stay calm and get everything that was needed to be done before spring break, done. This experience... Continue reading

This past week was relatively slow compared to the past weeks. Jonathan and I focused this week on planning for our next deliverable by compiling our ideas and organizing them in terms of importance. I will say that it was nice to have a week where we could sit back and gather our thoughts for our next deliverable. I also noticed that the collaboration between our client's ideas and our ideas started to flow together perfectly in this planning phase. We did a great job in our last meeting of working together on this deliverable, which is organizing TECT Powers... Continue reading

In this week, Jonathan and I turned in our second deliverable to our clients at TECT Power. Our deliverable was our design ideas for their current website. Overall, I believe that we did a much better job of making this deliverable more of a collaboration between us and the client. Instead of just taking the information and guidelines that Carrie and Greg gave us, we got them more involved with some of their own ideas, concepts, and goals for the overall assignment. I think this made the process much more clear and allowed for a team effort which made the... Continue reading

In this week, Jonathan and I presented our first deliverable to our clients at TECT Power. It was the new sales presentation that we had been working on, and we were very excited to show Greg and Carrie what we did with their old presentation. Overall, the meeting went very well! Greg and Carrie thoroughly enough the sales presentation and immediately saw the improvement from the old presentation. It was such a great feeling knowing that something we worked so hard on was appreciated and praised by our client. We also got to show the presentation to a member of... Continue reading

In this week, Jonathan and I made great progress in both our first deliverable and developing a better understanding of how TECT Power serves their clients/markets. During the unpacking exercise during Monday's class, Jonathan and I started to gain a new perspective on just how important the products and services that TECT Power offers are to their clients. Without the support of TECT Power products, their clients would not have working engine components and patented services for their product. This was a theme that Jonathan and I used to adjust our first deliverable, which is the sales presentation. We will... Continue reading

During this week of the Capstone project, Jonathon and I ended up running into some road blocks on the way to finishing our first deliverable for our client,TECT Power. Our first deliverable is a sales presentation that TECT Power salesmen use when they are pitching to their clients. We have been given access to their original sales presentation, which is a PowerPoint that uses a TECT Power template. However, we have not been given access to the information needed to complete the slides that are blank. TECT Power has relatively strict policies when it comes to sharing information with people... This week has been relatively slow in terms of any action being taken. My partner Jonathon and I developed our project charter, looked at the sales presentation that we will be working on, and started developing ideas on how we can improve it. We also developed our project charter which really made things sink in for me. We set our first deliverable for February 9th, which is less than two weeks away. Since our first deliverable is the new sales presentation, I know it is important to start off strong with assignment to prove that Jonathon and I can meet... Continue reading

Two weeks in to the MS Capstone project and I am eager to dig into the project that I have been assigned with my partner Jonathon Harrison and TECT Power. I realize this project is going to take a lot of time and effort, but I am excited to challenge myself and grow from this opportunity throughout the semester. TECT Power is a manufacturing company that makes turbine engine components and assembles them for aviation and industrial applications, as well as components for other industries with similar engineering and quality requirements. This a company and an industry that is relatively... Continue reading
