We have one week until we present our project to our client. WE are pretty nervous how they are going to react. We still have to get all of your ideas on paper we have hit a roadblock in that aspect, but i think we will be more than prepared when the presentation does come. We are going to be giving recommendations that are going to drastically change the dynamics of the faculty club that they may not agree with, but we know that these are the only way that the club can be get back to the way it... We are headed down the home stretch for the project and we are in turbo mood. Last week we visited Ohio State University Faculty Club to gain some insights on how they have been so successful for so long. We talked to the club director, board members, and members who have been around for 40+ years. they gave us great information on what we need to focus on and how to make our recommendations to the UC club even better and hit home. This week we need to start putting ideas on paper and start putting together the report and... Continue reading

We are still chugging along with the project. We didn't get much done over spring break so we need to pick up the pace since there is only 4 weeks left. I feel comfortable where we are at though. This Friday we are going up to the Ohio State Faculty Club take a tour and talk to their board members and see what they are doing that we should be doing here in Cincinnati, this will be very insightful and helpful. They were more than willing to help us with the project and anything we needed. I sent them an... Continue reading

we have been really caught up on our core competencies or lack there of for the Faculty Club. We were worried without those we weren't going to be able to move forward, but after our project review two this morning Drew let us know we shouldn't worry about those at all. We now have a new plan of attack, a two step project that might simplify this for us but give the Faculty Club better results. A short term communication strategy and a longterm aspiration plan. The short term is going to focus on gaining membership while in its current... Continue reading

After we received our results from the research we were kind of taken back by the results, they came back very different than we were expecting. in turn our though process changed and our heads were going in different directions of how to continue. We created deadlines to have something completed every Friday. we have been falling behind a little in those deadlines are needing to really catch up this week. We can't afford to fall behind and not get the project done in a timely matter. We had lunch at Mick and Macs last week to compare the food... Continue reading

after a lot of discussion with the Provost office and her assistant we were finally able to get him to send our survey out to the faculty. Within 2 hours of releasing the survey we has already received over 200 responses, this was an amazing turn of events. We were worried people weren't going to respond but luckily they did. The responses were not what we were hoping for though. A lot of people were complaining about paying for the membership when there aren't any benefits and others said they thing the food was terrible. so we are going to... Continue reading

Presley and I finally got our charter done after figuring out exactly how we were going to approach this project. For a minute there we were going in 100 different directions with our thoughts. we finally narrowed them down to the most important and where we felt we were going to be able to make the greatest impact. We are still trying to get our survey out to the Faculty and Staff, Provost Davenport didn't respond to our email. We were able to get in contact with her assistant who said he will let her know what is going on... Continue reading

After Presley and I have done all of the background research, meet with all important parties involved we have decided that our project is much more than just raising awareness about the Faculty Club. We have decided to completely restart the club from the base level. We found that they don't have a clear business plan, mission, or vision for what the club was suppose to be and services they were providing. That is the base problem of then club that we gave the board of governors instructions to come to a conclusion and right out the previously mentions plans.... Continue reading

Presley and I have had so many meetings over the last couple weeks trying to collect all of the background information about The Faculty Club as we can get. Initially we thought the only problem with the club was awareness and people just didn't know about it. After further investigation we have found that there is a much deeper problem then just awareness. The first step we took last week was meeting with Chef David to hear is take about the Club and where he wants to see it go in the future. Chef gave us amazing insights into The... Continue reading

Walking into the first class I was pretty nervous not really knowing what I was getting into. I have never had to complete a true capstone project like the one we have assigned. In undergrad the capstone for was an online simulation that didn't make us utilize andy knowledge from previous classes. When Drew began talking one the first day I became even more nervous and anxious. When he was explaining how many people have failed, and had to retake the class wasn't helping the slight anxiety attack I was having. I realized that it's all about time management and...
