Awwww -- such a shame to have to say good riddance to Nihart, who was vehemently against even looking at the possibility of some sort of rent control in Pacifica.
Congrats to New City Council Member Deirdre Martin

Of course, many of those are just driving through Pacifica down to Half Moon Bay and other coastal cities to spend their money where their business is appreciated. Let's not improve our downtown or tourist facilities at all to capture any of that extra revenue.

"What's wrong with Panda Express?? I like it."
Well, then, go to Serramonte and get your fill. How about another full-service restaurant, preferablY one with late-night service, as was there before?
Chipotle Chokes @ High-Rent Linda Mar Shopping Center
Better Business Burro reports that Chipotle will NOT move into the old Denny's building in Linda Mar shopping center. Stay tuned for any news on the other possible co-tenant in that space, Panda Express.
"Half Moon Bay, like Pacifica, is on its way to insolvency."
Losing a $37 million lawsuit will do that for you.
Of course, Half Moon Bay is a destination city that has a bustling little downtown, unlike the drive-through city known as Pacifica. Unfortunately, many longtime locals are afraid of any change that may improve the city and bring in more visitors and tax revenue.
Pacifica Prognosis 1969: "Rugged, Rocky Vistas" and 90,000 People
William Chapin's Suburbs of San Francisco, a book published in 1969, predicted that Pacifica would have a population of 90,000 by 1990. Chapin wrote about Pacifica: •"It has no industry and its local sales are among the lowest in the state." •"To remedy this, the city manager has stressed effort...

So glad they are moving in; there is such a lack of Japanese restaurants in Pacifica! #sarcasm
I Think It's Turning Japanese, I Really Think So
New Restaurant A Japanese restaurant with the unpronounceable name Uoyakutei has moved into the old Prime Dip/Boston Bill's/KFC site on Highway 1 at Rockaway Beach, where the weeds had grown as high as the roof. We wish them luck, and maybe Alan Wald will have some fun with their name. Grand Ope...

Fair Rents for Pacifica: Deirdre Martin for City Council
FairRents4Pacifica supports Deirdre Martin's campaign for City Council because she favors rent stabilization. We feel this is the best strategy for us to pursue in Pacifica. We have volunteered to help gather signatures in San Mateo for its rent stabilization ballot measure. We feel any positive...

City of Pacifica Refutes Bike Stand Injury Claim
Pacifica Pier bike stand has been removed. The City of Pacifica denies it is at fault in response to Pacifican Vanessa Edmundson's civil suit (CIV537576), which seeks unspecified monetary damages for injuries claimed from tripping over a concrete bicycle stand at Pacifica Pier in January 2015. ...

"There's no comparing big cities on the Peninsula with Pacifica. They have large commercial tax bases; we don't, and never will. I say never because geography precludes it."
Here -- fixed it for you:
"There's no comparing big cities on the Peninsula with Pacifica. They have large commercial tax bases; we don't, and never will. I say never because as long as people are afraid of any change and still believe we are living in the '60s, nothing will ever change."
Move New Library to Francisco?
Library Location Poll Pacifica.city also has a nice photo feature about the city public works crew cleaning out the storm drains along Beach Boulevard.
This is a total WTF. Let's tear down the building that could house a full-service restaurant and instead put two lowbrow chain restaurants in instead! That's a recipe for success. Aren't there enough empty storefronts in Linda Mar that could have housed these crapfeeds?

Pacifica City Council Rejects Rent Control, 3-2
"On Monday, January 25, before a packed chamber, on a 3-2 vote, the City Council voted to oppose Rent Control in Pacifica. After 4 hours of public comment and well after midnight, the Council wrapped-up a long debate over Rent Control with a motion from Councilman John Keener and a Second from M...
Interesting -- so you're called out that the sinkhole is not near where the library is being built, which is in an area not prone to sinkholes, so you decide to use some revisionist tactics and claim your concern is about flooding an underwater garage instead. Of course, you also fail to mention the report says either additional studies and work would need to be done to support underground parking or above-ground parking would be the alternative. Nowhere in it does it say that underground parking will be built, you know because that is exactly why they do studies first -- to see what is feasible and what isn't.
Whoops -- what are you going to come up with now?

Ummmm, no. This is not the location of the new library. I know you're probably one of the people who have lived in Pacifica for thousands of years and are opposed to any change whatsoever, but please stop spreading misinformation.
