Hi Joe, recently purchased Fast after 50 ebook and have found that it resonated strongly with me at many levels and has already helped me, thank you. Because of this I purchased one of your training programs from Training Peaks called - Olympic Build-Peak-Race Period (Advanced) 12-13 hrs/week. I was planning to use this as a training template for an international Olympic triathlon I qualified for later this year and have two questions. Firstly there seems to be quite a lot of Zone 3 training in this program which doesn't fit with my understanding of the book. Perhaps I selected the wrong program? If so can you recommend a more suitable program for me. Secondly there is a sprint triathlon 3 days before before the Olympic race which I have also qualified for, what are your thoughts about this and the impact on relative priority of workout types you describe in table 6.6 in your book during the Build phase if I do both triathlons? The Olympic would be my priority. FYI I am well over 50, have been doing Triathlons for only 18 months but have been into high level XC MTB for many years. I have had multiple podium success at Australian national Olympic and sprint triathlon age group level this year and looking for next level. Training 14-15 hours per week comfortably as retired.
