The smallish crew who showed this morning were in for a treat - below the gloomy clouds was warm clear water with sea creatures a-plenty for us to interact with. Sunrise was a muted affair I saw these ladies leave the water and re-enter shortly after - not enough of... Continue reading

I'm also a big fan of Non Dyalb and thought his turn at the Enmore was epic. Reading enviously of your merch purchase, Elizabeth and Shelley. The merch counters and surrounding crowds always put me off. I invariably walk away and invariably regret it later.

There was quite the rip running along the corner and beyond today, and this was Mr Drinkwater's advice for swimming back to the beach - avoid the trouble spots and go with the flow rather than against it. It struck me that this could be a metaphor for life -... Continue reading

Today is an extra special day. January 26 marks the landing of the First Fleet, a convoy of 11 ships carrying convicts, at Port Jackson in 1788. This event represents the founding of the colony New South Wales. From 1946, January 26 was called Australia Day in all states and... Continue reading

As the warm weather continues and the murky waters and cold temps appear to have departed, a B&B swimmer's thoughts naturally turn to the longer summer swims - the triple, the 6km and the 10km and the glory these swims confer on one. Coming up to the weekend the hive... Continue reading

With many swimmers enjoying the year-end break, the mood is definitely relaxed, despite some challenging swimming conditions. There appears to be a sandbank out from the point, delivering interesting wave and rip patterns. Note the sole swimmer entering the water I saw the 6:30 swimmers heading out from the beach.... Merry Christmas from the politically incorrect Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad. Many swimmers were getting right into the Christmas Spirit with their attire today This was going to be a photo of Annie and Janet. It still was, but with benefits Lainey and Sheena - it was going to be... Continue reading

Apologies for the lateness of this blog - I've just come back from doing my annual Bronze wet proficiency (with a side trip to the supermarket on the way home). You can now rest assured that Dee Why is protected for another year, under the benevolent gaze of yours truly... Continue reading

Did you know that when you immerse yourself in the ocean you are performing an ancient ritual of purification? Rituals featuring water are practiced by many faiths. Water has a central place in the practices and beliefs of many religions for two main reasons. Firstly, water cleanses. Water washes away... Continue reading

Oopsie! Not only did I show up late, also did not check the calendar. I started with Jo Gregory. We both expressed sadness over the absence of the cheesy one. Hopefully he will be back soon. I'd been reading the blogs from the past week with some excitement, but had... Continue reading

I've just delved into the link you posted and must say I agree with it 100%. I've been having some work stress and haven't been to see Doctor E for a few months. Made it back 3 weeks ago. One treatment in, the stress is still there but my response to it has changed - patterns of stress adjusted. This stuff works.

You never know what you're going to get was running through my mind as I walked down Ashburner Street this morning. Confession - I noticed Forrest Gump was on the tube last night but surfed past it. So much seaweed! For a minute I thought I was at my local... Continue reading

I must admit I did not want to get up this morning. After getting soaked several times through the course of yesterday's work day, surely I deserved a sleep-in. But we bloggers are a dedicated lot and who am I to let the team down. Hardy regulars mulling over the... Continue reading

Should have come and swum instead of watching that tennis match that turned into an episode of South Park. Great blog, evoking fomo right now.

The longer days and the rain we've had over the past few weeks have triggered a burst of spring flower growth, on display in the front gardens of Ashburner Street on the way to the beach. Here are some gorgeous azalea, magnolia and brunfelsia aka yesterday today and tomorrow. The... Continue reading
