I lifted a 26 pound kettlebell over my head one handed last night. Left hand, one arm press. In January I couldn't lift an eight ounce bottle of water like that. I was stoked. Taekwondo and swimming are a powerful combination. I mean, wow. Continue reading

I have been jogging and bear crawling on a beach in Hawaii for the last week. Plus lots of swimming and playing. Yesterday, much to my wife's dismay, my 16 year old son and I were grappling in the pool. I was trying to catch him with an Achilles compression... Continue reading

I swam a pool length under water yesterday at the YMCA. I have done that before, but not lately. My shoulder has been holding me back. It's doing much better and I pulled it off yesterday. I was so psyched I let out a huge gasp and loud "YEAH!" Family... Continue reading

As I stated, I returned to Taekwondo back in January. I followed the Kickboxing guy when the MMA gym closed. He to cut the sessions back to 3 times a week. I can't make any of those sessions. So I returned to TKD. It was a great move. I will... Continue reading

Well I didn't make 100. Not for lack of trying. I never stopped training for this. 100 was just an ignorant goal. I started at 20 (with much effort and almost not making it) and did 50 Hindu Squats yesterday. That's pretty good. It helped me keep from gaining any... Continue reading

I am a professional Paramedic and a family man. Martial Arts are my hobby. I would love to train full time. It's my favorite thing to do, but I can't and layoffs from training will happen. Continue reading

Still working my way to 100 straight Hindu Squats on New Year's Eve. I have about three weeks still. I think with a lot of effort I should make it. I did a lot of Taekwondo today also. I have been trying to do 100 Hindu Squats every other day.... Continue reading

Not a lot of martial arts stuff on this martial arts blog so far. Well I have been having work done in my house. People come up with all kinds of excuses not to train, but training is play to me. It's fun and I miss it. I will be... Continue reading

Let there be no confusion because of the name of this blog. Stewie is a lover, not a fighter. Dog fighters are people who are too ignorant or lazy to work for their money. My son is in high school and is planning on being an animal cop when he is finished with college. It has been his dream, for four years now, to make a living locking up dog fighters (and other animal abusers) for a living.
I know a lot of people enjoy my goofy nonsense, but are less interested in how my shin conditioning is going, so this gives me an outlet for that. Continue reading

My favorite way to see someone win a fight is by out lasting the other guy. I love to see a guy (or girl) gas and loose. Most fights are won in the gym anyway. I think it's fun to watch someone get caught not doing their homework. Continue reading
