North Korea Receives US Sanctions After Sony Attacks
US sanctions against 10 North Korean officials and three organizations have been issued by US President Obama. This comes after there was an attack on Sony Pictures company on the movie to be released titled "The Interview", featuring a storyline of two interviewers set to interview and kill North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un. These sanctions seem to be very military and cyber based. India Victory on Freedom of Speech Online
India's Supreme Court has scrapped away their Section66A law stating that any offensive comments online would lead to arrests made. The fact that this was even a law at one point shows how censored the Indian government can be with their rules against the media and freedom of speech and press. Al Jazeera Journalist Released From Egyptian Prison, Two Others Remain
According to Wadah Khanfar, writing for theguardian.com, Peter Greste, journalist for al-Jazeera, was released from an Egyptian prison after 400 days. Khanfar and his two fellow journalist were arrested due to the lack of freedom of press in Egypt under dictator Hosni Mubarak.
