By Steve Beard, Executive Director, EAM, Infor Global military spending last year reached $1.7 trillion dollars, according to the International Institute of Strategic Studies. The U.S. topped the list and spent four times the amount of the next nearest country, which happened to be the Peoples Republic of China. According to the study, the U. S. Department of Defense (DOD) spent $597.5 billion in 2015. However, Saudi Arabia, followed by Israel, spent significantly more than even the United States on a per capita basis.
