Hi Natalie,
Thanks for visiting the blog! We had no idea slap bracelets were metal rulers until we peeled over the plastic covering. It was quite the surprise! If we weren't making 1000 bracelets for an event, I think we would have gone with the upcycled method! Just keep in mind the type of scissors you use when cutting the ruler!

Hi Lisa,
Thanks so much for your interest in our efforts to go green! We love to hear that you're using scrap and remnant fabric to create your quilts but I'm afraid we do not sell the returned fabric that is used for our blankets and other charitable sew-ins.

Hi again Su!
We spoke with Denise and here's a quick update of her dress :
"I found a vintage 1920's dress on Etsy that was badly destroyed. I bought the dress, took it apart and lifted the pattern off of it. Then I reconstructed the garment as well as stitched on the beaded parts of the dress that were in tact. The reconstruction part went by rather quickly, but repairing the damaged bead work has taken quite a bit of time. I also dropped in a lining since the dress was a bit see through. I used the butterfly ecru and for the lining I used pale blush pink solid (fdd9d1) by weavinging major. (http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/3350710) , also in poly crepe de chine."
