Thank you for your fast reply! An example for my last question is the following sentence: To illustrate this, if the question was "At what time does your shop close?" shopkeepers often started their answer with “at” as well (e.g. “At five o’clock”). Is the sentence okay like this?

Hi Timothy, I'm struggling regarding how to report examples of sentences used in an experiment (as spoken by the participant). - Should I put the sentence in italics? - Should I put the sentence (also) between single or double quotation marks? - Should I capitalize the first letter of the first word, as in normal sentences, when I use it within another sentence? - If I'm referring to just one word, not an entire sentence, do the same rules then apply? Thank you in advance!
