An incredible effort for so many to turn up on what was going to be the coldest day of the year! The way some embraced the cold (while I was in my wetsuit) was pretty amazing. Here are some of the toughest characters we have amongst us: Ian said he... Continue reading

Thanks a lot Lisa, I'm getting no sympathy at home (a la the boy who cried wolf) so it's nice to get some online!
relinquish it? surely there would be an independence day holiday as well!
yes, apologies - i stand corrected. Thanks for letting me know. As we do not celebrate Guy Fawkes Day with too many bonfires or fireworks in the high bushfire season of November, I thought we had moved the memory of the gunpowder plot to June (for bushfire safety) and to coincide with the Queen's Birthday - would not be the first bad taste Australian joke.
hehe my girlfriend would not agree that it is life-threatening but definitely man-threatening!
First off, apologies for no water shots - my man-flu prevented me getting too close to the action but I still wanted to document the ways that we, the B&B, celebrate the Queen's Birthday. You might say we were putting on pretty English weather in honour of the 91st birthday... Continue reading

Brilliant sunshine today – Dragon would not need to head all the way to the Caribbean when we have this on offer! It is definitely clear that Summer’s on the run and I guess that it was this fact that brought out all the stars! I was finally able to... Continue reading

Thanks Inge, so sorry about misspelling your name
To follow on with my last blog, “Ferox et decorus consilium” which was meant to mean ‘Bold and Beautiful Resolutions’, I wanted to see how well people were doing so far. Many were already trying to uphold a particular virtue to keep them on the right path – although some... Continue reading

Since the end of sub-17 days, it was easy to sense 2017 sneaking up on us, just around the corner as we powered through Cabbage Tree Bay, Even if some of our salmon did try to swim against the grain, and hold on to what had gone by, It was... Continue reading

Come on Les, we all know the cheeky grin is your normal look
We didn’t see skies of blue Just clouds of white But the start of Summer Makes our colours so bright And we think to ourselves What a wonderful world. Judy Garland really did best describe the affect that the bright fluro is having on our swimmers now that Summer water... Continue reading

Thanks very much Suzie! Hope it made Monday a bit more bearable!
love it Shelley! and I think we are both plagiarising something way past copyright too!
What a great day and I was only there for half of it! My brother has always maintained that punctuality is a virtue of the bored yet others are adamant that lateness is a virtue of the lazy – I still do not know which one is worse. Upon arrival... Continue reading

A huge turnout for the winter badge ceremony! After all the effort getting those winter badges, winter without wetsuit badges and the most coveted nude badges, today was always going to be huge! And there was irrefutable evidence that it was also a super dirty ceremony. I tried my best... Continue reading

I must confess that when I sat down to write this 12 hours ago, I was terrified that I would bore you all, and to be honest, I still am. At first it felt like such an uneventful day especially compared to last Sunday – Today there was only one... Continue reading
