Hey Naomi, that's awesome! I actually extended my stay, so I'll meet you in a few months!
Be prepared for the heat, first and foremost! It might get a bit cooler in the winter, but generally it's either hot or raining in Thailand. The classrooms at the school and accommodation do not have AC, so that might be an adjustment as well (;
This past year was a year of mourning for the late king, which meant that at school all the teachers wore black, or muted tones like grey, white, or blue. The one year period will be over soon, but i would advice you when packing teaching clothes to avoid red, orange, yellow and other bright colors - these are fine for out of school, but not during school. Also, don't overpack!
And as for the students - be prepared for wild! They are honestly so much fun and incredibly loving as well.
And lastly, just be open to new adventures and experiences! There are so many cool things to do and see here in Thailand.
