Blog Post 9: Nearing the Third Deliverable
This week was a lot of the same as the previous couple weeks with work just continuing on our third deliverable for TECT Power's branding and search engine optimization. One development though was that Chris and I heard from a website designer and spoke on the phone with him. He seemed excited about the project we are working on with TECT Power and even gave some suggestions for their site. He was interested in meeting with them and we have set up a meeting with all of us after Spring Break. Hopefully that will work out for us and TECT... Continue reading

Blog Post 8: Work Continues
This was another week where Chris and I continued to work on our next deliverable for TECT Power. The plan is to get most of the work done before Spring Break to be prepared to just make a few adjustments after break and before our next meeting with TECT. I personally have had trouble with motivation in general lately but I'm working on overcoming that and forcing myself to get things done even when I would rather be doing anything else. Chris and I also began looking for website design specialists that TECT Power can hire to implement some of... Continue reading

Blog Post 7: Slow Week
This week was quite slow for Chris and I as we began planning for our next deliverable dealing with TECT Power's branding. It was nice to have a week where we weren't stressing over getting a lot done and were able to take a step back and look at everything without time pressure. Chris and I began piling together ideas and began the early stages for our next deliverable which sin't due until after Spring Break. There isn't much to say about this week besides that it was nice to relax a bit from everything, recollect our thoughts, and taking... Continue reading

Blog Post 6: Second Deliverable
Chris and I once again had a deliverable due this week and I feel we once again did a great job with it. We met with Carrie in-person while Greg had to video call in. We went through our ideas with them and they once again told us they loved what we had done. The difference this time is that they came up with some great ideas as well and gave us some stuff to work with as well. I loved that the meeting felt more like a conversation instead of just a showcase and I feel we're getting more... Continue reading

Blog Post 5: First Deliverable
This week Chris and I were finally able to sit down with our client and show off our hard work on the first deliverable of the project: their updated client presentation. I think the meeting went extremely well as Carrie and Greg seemed quite impressed with what we had done. They even were excited to show someone from the sales department the updated look and it made me feel like I accomplished something really helpful for them. It felt great to finally get something into their hands and show them the hard work we have been doing together so far... Continue reading

Blog Post 4: Work is Getting Done!
Next week our first deliverable to TECT Power is due and I’m finally able to see some progress in what we are doing. Chris and I are both working on our own redesigns of the presentation they have given us, and we plan to meet together to put the best of both of our ideas together. I like this way of tackling the presentation as we are able to come up with different design elements on our own. We can see what is in common between both of ours and see that those are something we should probably incorporate into... Continue reading

Blog Post 2: Slow Start
Not much really happened this week as my partner, Chris DiBiase, and I just began preparations for what is coming ahead. This week was really just dedicated to writing up the charter and getting that taken care of. It wasn’t too difficult to write up as we had already given a priority list and plan with due dates that TECT Power wanted last week. So, the charter was just building off what we had determined there. Coming up in a couple weeks will be our first deliverable in the edited PowerPoint presentation for them. Honestly, I’m still a little nervous... Continue reading

Blog Post 1: A Beginning
These first two weeks in Marketing Capstone have brought me nervousness and excitement as my partner, Chris Dibiase, and I began our project with TECT Power. I was rather unsure about this whole project at the beginning, having no clue about the industry in which TECT operates and just being unsure about how easy it would be to work with our contacts in the company. After our first meeting however, I’m feeling much more confident heading into the starting stages of this project. Chris is fantastic to work with and our contacts, Greg Salesses and Carrie Bundren, were great to... Continue reading
