I'm guessing you don't travel as frequently as you think you do...winter...in Philly's airport which makes third world countries look posh by comparison. A road warrior knows this can only end badly and would have skipped the call to the fiance and the line at the desk and gone right to the car rental desk.
Bad Customer Service: Stranded
From slimjim72384, AskReddit This story is how American Airlines poor planning and even worse customer service almost caused me to miss my own wedding: So, I live in Florida now but am originally from Rochester NY, as is my wife. My wife is a school teacher and I am in sales. She gets a lot m...
Thank you for this site, it has been so entertaining. Beyond that although I do not work retail reading this almost daily has made me a MUCH better customer. There were so many things I had no idea the staff were required to do, I'm so much more patient and understanding of their situations now.

Microsoft Display Fail Spotted By Best Buy Associate
From u/thetoader14 I work at Best Buy and found this before the end of my shift.
I do. That's the point. You post and get it out to relieve the pressure and share war stories to remind yourself it isnt you, it really is them. This....is not that.
The Bitch Manager From Hell Pt 22: Fallout
From jon6, TalesFromTechSupport Journeying to work that day, I knew there was to be plenty bad noise. Despite this feeling of ensuing doom, it was an oddly upbeat kind of day. The morning sun was subdued as it accompanied the first warm day of the year and seemed to fill the office with natur...
I"m sure it happened, it's happened to just about all of us. I can say from experience that investing this bandwith is not ideal and hopefully the writer can learn from it and find a better way to deal with it if/when it happens again. Just remembering that the person making you so very unhappy is spending zero time while you torture yourself just means they keep winning even after they lost.

easily summed up as one story: Had a bad boss that was not qualified for the job and rather than try to be humble and learn from the team they oversaw she threw them under the bus to hide her failures. But after a year or so she screwed up so badly she finally got fired.
Seriously - you've given so much more of your life energy to this. Do you think the bad boss is doing that?
Let it go or risk becoming a bitter and (more) judgmental old crank.

Tl/Dr: I got a bad boss.
The Bitch Manager From Hell Pt 21: The Rollout From Hell
From jon6, TalesFromTechSupport QBG and I worked long and worked hard. Machines were building while machines were unwrapped while machines were repacked - this time with larger address labels as per Angie’s demands. The previously arid air infected by Roland seemed more pleasant now that Angi...
Good for you. I'm a woman that has no problem with women that want to use their bodies as their living. That's weird to a lot of people but whatever, as long as everyone are functional adults and all consent then who cares. BUT women like this one are why people that make money from their body are viewed as lower citizens not worthy of rights like people with 'real' jobs. How many news articles refer to a woman as former stripper or former dancer when they are the victim of a crime - like it's their fault for not being a nun. Good for you for stopping it early and protecting your family and your dad sounds like an amazing human.
Justice Served: Planning To Blackmail An Attorney? Yeah That's Gonna Go Over Well
From u/daecrist, ProRevenge Years ago when I was in college I worked at my dad's law office to make a little extra money. I enjoyed the work and enjoyed working with my dad on the daily. He was a nice man and generous to a fault. Sometimes so generous that people would take advantage of him, ...
Ah, didn't think of that. I agree I remember the people.
Automotive Hell: The Server
From 36055512, Tales ”SERVER’S DOWN! SERVER’S DOWN!” It’s a Wednesday in August, and it is officially hot in my office at Dishonest Used Car Dealership. We’ve got an air conditioner, but, of course, it doesn’t work. So, not only am I grumpy from the heat, but our Incompetent Tech Guy is runni...
I like your stories but could you pace yourself? I'm starting to go from the amused feeling to the 'geez this guy is a whiny douche who doesn't ever seem to be in the wrong' feeling. I think it's too much volume.

I'm American and there are a few reasons. First is the credit card charges for doing the FX. They never give fair exchange plus charge a huge fee. But, if he knew that he'd never have crossed the border without Canadian cash. A second reason is someone that could have seen his credit card statement didn't know he was in Canada and he was trying to hide it. Most likely is reason three. He's an entitled douche and the type that embarrasses citizens like myself. SORRY ON BEHALF OF ALL AMERICANS WHO KNOW BETTER.
Retail Hell Memories: "Why don't you accept US money?" "Cause this is Canada."
From FrozenGasoline, Tales From Retail: I work in a small grocery store chain that's only located in Canada. Our store is in a plaza and our cash desks are right in front of the windows, so I see this car drive up with a New York license plate and think "Oh cool! Americans!" It was an older ...
You are investing too much of yourself into the situation. Go to work. Do your job. Clock out and leave. Spend as much energy being upset about this and the people upsetting you spend thinking about you. Nobody can make you feel this bad unless you let them.
Barista Hell: Toxic Manager Dumps On Retail Slave Part 2
From Bumpkins0, TalesFromYourBarista Well things have just gone from bad to worse. My manager is starting to lose his grip, so much so that he has begun to run to his dad (the owner) about every little thing that is going wrong and some major shit just went down this passed week. Give you a l...
