I hope it is a phase that will soon die out. It is not too long ago that pixel resolutions doubled every one or two years, and what they doubled to significantly enhanced quality. I don't think it'll be too long before we get in a groove where newer technology isn't that enticing. I could easily enjoy my remaining days with the equipment I have today.
