Personally, I find great encouragement from Jesus's sermon on the mount in Matthew 5. The first three beatitudes seem to touch upon a uniquely human experiences. Aren't we all, at times, poor in spirit, mourning, or meek? Jesus tells us in those first three examples, that we're blessed when we're in that state - we're blessed and, even though we feel that way, we're still on track for the Kingdom of God!
