Thanks so much for this quaint, fun and informative post David! The titles of the various lectures are sometimes stiff and dry (or were they?), sometimes hilarious, sometimes poetic, so revealing of their time.

Yes Nancy this brittle thick paper required a very strong backing and Haini Kozo from the Japanese Paper Place did the trick!

"Bathing" works on paper may seem contrary to preserving them---usually we try to keep our treasures away from water! But in cases like this where the paper is weakened and the paper and all of the media are stable in water, a bath can help so much.
