It really is hard to believe it’s time to write my final blog post for my Capstone class and my final blog post for my masters! I’m with the group working with YPO to improve their member engagement and I’ve really enjoyed working on this project. It’s really crazy that we are down to the final week before we present to our client and other members of YPO. We had one final meeting last Monday with the client Tyler and we finalized how we plan to present the data we collected over the semester. I was glad to hear Tyler... Continue reading

Here we are again Capstone class – another week down and another week closer to our final presentations. This is the time we really need to focus our time management to make sure we are able to complete this large-scale project. We are the group working for YPO to find better ways to build this organization and give our recommendations to improve their members experience. Even though class was cancelled on Monday we decided to meet as a group to organize our insights that we have pulled from the interviews. We also discussed how we plan to deliver all of... Another week of capstone is in the books and as a class we are really starting to get into the crunch time to complete our final projects. Now that my group is done with our interviews and detailed notes, we have moved on to diving deeper into our insights from the interviews. We have decided to split up the insights so that each person can take a deeper look into specific parts of our data. We as a group completed over 40 interviews and I feel we have a great deal of information to bring to the client in our... Continue reading

Happy Monday Capstone class! I’m combining Blog Post #8 & 9 because my two weeks were almost identical in the work I did for our Capstone project. We are in the home stretch of this class and I’m starting to feel the pressure of delivering such a big project. My group is working with YPO members to find ways to better their organization. We completed all 40 interviews, which was more than our client originally requested. Then over the last two weeks we finalized the detailed interview notes for each member and started analyzing our data we received. We were... Continue reading

Happy Monday to everyone in the capstone class! I must say this class seems to be moving right along and I feel the YPO group has been able to stay on schedule. This will be our last week of interviews and we should have almost 40 interviews completed. Last week we met as a group and finalized how all the interviews will be analyzed for our final paper and presentation. After we met as a group, our client joined us. This was extremely helpful because we were able to get a sense of what exactly he is expecting when it... Continue reading

Good Afternoon everyone – hope all the groups had another productive week working on their capstone projects. The YPO group has finished scheduling our remaining interviews from our first list of 30 people and we have now received the second list from our client. We plan on having our interviews completed by spring break, so we can give ourselves enough time as a team to analyze the data thoroughly. On Monday night we are having a group meeting to go over how we plan to finish the project out and get organized with final dates. After we meet as a... Continue reading

Hello everyone, hope you have all had another productive week working on your capstone projects! I’m part of the team working for YPO, we are interviewing active members to uncover ways to improve their organization. This week we had a team call with Dianne to discuss our progress to date and I feel it helped put the project in focus. So far, we have completed a majority of the interviews that our client has requested but we really need to start analyzing the data, so we don’t fall behind. I think it’s important to my group to deliver a quality... Continue reading

Hey Everyone – I’m hoping everyone’s projects are going well so far, and no one is feeling too overwhelmed just yet! I’m working with the group who is interviewing members of YPO to better understand how we can help improve their organization. When we first met with our client, he was hoping we would be able to conduct 20 interviews with members and at the end of this week we have either completed or scheduled those 20 interviews. Our client gave us a list of 30 members who would be willing to sit down for an interview with us and... Continue reading

Hello again! We have another week down and are moving right along with our interviews for the Capstone project. The members of YPO seem to be pretty responsive to scheduling their interviews and our group has been working together well on making sure we have someone available. We had a meeting with our client on Monday to discuss exactly what he expects for our project and to get him to sign off on our charter. We were able to nail down the deliverables and discuss who from YPO will be at our final presentation. Everyone talks about time management when... Continue reading

Another week down with the Capstone project and we are finally making some progress with our client YPO. This week we received our list of YPO members who we could start scheduling interviews with. I feel fortunate to have a group of 6 to be working with on this project. I work full time and don’t have much flexibility to leave work and conduct interviews during the day. As a group we have scheduled the first couple of interviews for next week and I’m looking forward to seeing what the qualitative research comes back as. Our client Tyler has such... Continue reading

Hello Class – It’s hard to believe 2 weeks have already come and gone for our Capstone class. I’m part of the group working with YPO. YPO is a leadership organization of chief executives from around the world. The organization is active in over 130 countries and has over 27,000 members. On top of the membership fee the members of YPO must be younger than 45 and be the president of a company that produces $10+ millions in sales. As a team we are going to be interviewing members of YPO who are involved in the Cincinnati chapter. We are... Continue reading
