Just as the sun completes its morning ritual of bursting into the sky, so too do we complete ours which set us up for the day. Whether that be getting out on the same side of the bed each morning, (unless you've had a rough night's sleep and find yourself... Continue reading

The morning got off to a great start when David Champion announced to the pink caps entering the water on the dot of 7am, that Janet 'was really easy to pick up'. We all fell about laughing while David, with an armful of Janet, considered his remark momentarily and Janet,... Continue reading

While this beautiful sunrise photo (photo credit Jac Shell) doesn't truly highlight the strong current and pumping waves this morning, the notorious nor-easterly provided challenging conditions again today as management warned to swim within limits and start from Shelly if any concerns. Listening intently to instructions some headed to Shelly,... Continue reading

It was a drizzly start to the morning, traffic was slow and there was an air of 'lets just stay tucked up in bed' lingering! Apart from cars, very few people were out and about! Approaching the beach was quiet too and it felt like no-one was there for our... Continue reading

Is that why you weren't there this morning Sue! I was wondering why I hadn't seen you for a couple of days. Get yourself better asap! Salt water is good for ear aches I hear 😆 😆
I don't think any of the 6.30s came across the blueys Russell which was the reason why it was all a bit of a shock for the 7am swimmers! They seemed to come out of nowhere!
We think you need to move here permanently, Mel and join our waterpolo team! That jump was seriously awesome! So glad you have been able to squeeze in some swims with B&B during your holiday!
Thanks to you and your ouch & nettle cream Anne, the colourful language was short-lived luckily!!
Thanks Edwina. Still need a lot of work! :-) As for the blueys - not happy.
Yes it was gorgeous Elizabeth - except of course for the last part coming back into Manly!
Thanks Shaun! Glad you liked it. Yes JK sure doe look like a ghost! So does Julie the new swimmer and just cos of a bit of water on lens!
On what were otherwise perfect conditions, today's swim (and Jac Shell) had a stinging end. This team of extraordinarily brave swimmers show off their welts which were inflicted, oh so close to home! Heading around the point into a barrage of waiting blues, there was nothing we could do but... Continue reading

Thanks Lainey! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to blog alternate weeks with you!!
Hi Cindy, the babe watch crew are taking over Tuesday blogs and yesterday there was an illness in the group and a subsequent roster fail but they are getting that under control and will be on top of it all by next Tuesday. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks Edwina! We are a bit worried about what happens on day 5 of a nor' easterly! Do all the blueys come back?? I guess we will find out tomorrow!
Thanks Russell! Very happy we could cheer up your day whilst you were at work!!
Thanks Shelley! Not sure what was going on with the vibe! Maybe it was the fear of the blue bottles rearing their ugly heads after being lulled into a false sense of security! As for Truth Fairy - I don't know who they are either!
Thanks Pauline! We were wondering what happens with blue bottles on day 5 of a nor' easterly which is expected tomorrow apparently! Might have to workshop it with John L and the team!
A team of very happy B&Bers post swim today and sans blue bottle stings after a horrific day yesterday of bluey carnage and multiple casualties! Janet's leg was covered in stings yesterday. They were so bad we had to blur the photo so not to frighten you. (Actually- there was... Continue reading

Driving down Sydney Road this morning, the invigorating smell of salt air permeated the car. I breathed in deeply, wondering whether there was a special smell in the air that signals blue bottles in water, similar to smells of different fruit in wine! I sniffed extra hard, and after detecting... Continue reading

Welcome to the 2nd morning of 2019 where the birds were up tweeting before Donald Trump, the sunrise over Manly was its usual stunning self and 800 swimmers were buzzing with holiday fever. A sense of excitement was in the air and a special event was brewing! Something About Michael.... Continue reading

The sun may have been having a little sleep in on this slightly dull morning but that didn't stop the shine emanating from the faces of this lot! Not quite sure why they were pointing but maybe they were having a bet about who would get to Shelly first! These... Continue reading
