Snow Is Here
Now that it is getting cold out again and starting to snow it is a big change. We all know it's coming but we are never fully prepared for the super cold weather. Having to bundle up and take the extra time to get everything ready is definitely an adjustment every year. The first snowfall of the year was last week and it really does make everything feel so festive and bright. So many people hate the snow, and sometimes I do as well but overall I love the snow. I have grown up with it all my life and have gotten so used to it but I will never be 100% used to driving in the snow. It is something that I am not very good at and I am more than willing to admit that. Now is when everyone needs to be careful driving and hopefully everyone stays... Continue reading

Choosing Our Christmas Tree
After Thanksgiving comes Christmas so of course on thanksgiving my family went to choose our Christmas tree. We get ours from my grandparents who have a Christmas tree farm. We have always had a real Christmas tree and from the same place each year. It is something we do each year together after thanksgiving. We have really tall ceilings in our sunroom so we always get a pretty tall one. It has always been super cool that we just get to go out in our grandparent's backyard field and choose exactly what tree we think is perfect for us. It is something so special that I will cherish forever with them. Hopefully, everyone else is also getting ready for December and their holidays this coming month. I think it is such a special time. If you celebrate Christmas I have a few questions for you all. What kind of tree... Continue reading

Thanksgiving Week
I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and a week off from school. I got to go home and see my family. My brother for the first time in three months and my sister for the first time in 5 months. It was amazing to see them both and I hope that others got to see their loved ones as well. My sister came home unexpectedly and surprised all of my extended family at thanksgiving on the day. They were all so surprised and loved getting to see all of us home this thanksgiving. I also had a friend come to my family thanksgiving this year and it was great to show someone else some of the traditions we have. It also makes me think about what other people do as well. We all think that the traditions we have with our own families are so normal but everyone... Continue reading

Semester Almost Over
I can not believe how fast this month has gone by. It feels like just yesterday it was orientation week and now we only have two weeks left. When I think about everything I have learned, happened, and experienced these past few months it blows my mind. It feels like so much and so little time at the same point. We are all starting to prepare for our finals and hopefully, no one is too stressed out. I know for myself I will have to study a lot, be confident, and believe in myself. I bet we will all do great if we try our best. After this, we will have a break for a few weeks and be back soon after. It is all just happening so fast. And while it is a lot we all just keep going. Friday Clinical Day’s
Friday’s are clinical days! For the past few weeks I have had clinical on Friday’s at CVMC. I was supper scared to start this clinical but so far it has been great to finally get some experience. We have finally gotten to go into the hospital and be able to work with patients this year when we were not able to as much last year. It feels amazing to get to use the skills that me and all my classmates have learned over the past two years. It also helps to see what I am good at or what I am interested in doing in the future. While it is something that I am enjoying lots one thing that I am not a fan of is having to get up early. I am not a morning person so having to get up super early is definitely not something I like... Continue reading

I Miss Everyone
After three years you would think that I would be so much better at this being away from home thing, but I’m not. Being away from home, my mom, dad, brother, Freya, and Sara is still so hard. I still feel like I am missing so much while Fraya is growing so much. And while I know my brother is away at school having fun and growing as a young man, I miss him so much. It is crazy to think that so much time has already passed and that my baby brother is also away at college. I look forward to being able to see him in about two months and my parents during the parents' weekend. Fraya and Sara came up on Sunday to visit me for the first time this year and I already miss them like crazy. We went out to lunch and hung out for... Continue reading

Going to the Tunbridge
A few weekends ago my friend who grew up here took some other girls and me to the Tunbridge Fair. I had never even heard of this fair before a few years ago and came here. I didn’t know what to expect as I had only been to the Braton Fair and the Champlain Fair before and not many times. We went for the food and to see what it was like, not to ride any rides. It was actually a quite cute little fair. There were bands, so many animals, little popup shops, and so much food. We walked about and got to look at all of the animals, which is my favorite thing. I pet so many cows, saw baby pigs, horses, and ox. We also got to eat fair food and listen to music. It was fun and I definitely hope that we go again next year... Continue reading

A Little Time Off
Wow, I have been so beyond busy for the last two months. I have had some crazy times for a little while so I decided to take a little time off. In August I went on vacation with my family and once we got home we found out that some of the people in our family had COVID. That was very overwhelming and it is the hardest thing to see the people you love in pain or sick. After having to quarantine and make sure that I wasn't sick it was just about time for me to leave for school. Saying goodbye to the people you love is always very hard. It was the last time I would see my brother before he had to leave for school also (and won’t see him again till thanksgiving) which was very heartbreaking. I moved into school early so that I could be... Continue reading

OOB Vacation
I can’t believe that it is almost August already. Last weekend I went to Acadia and we weren't able to see either the sunset or the sunrise. It also rained almost the whole time we were there. We tented out and it was definitely not how I expected the weekend to go. We plan to maybe try again next year to actually see the sunrise or set instead of just fog and rain. This weekend I leave for Maine for the whole first week of August. We have gone to Old Orchard Beach every year for a long time. We stay at the same place every year and all of us get to go together. This year it will be only 15 people going instead of all 17 of us. My sister and cousin Kaleb both live out of state now so they can’t come. Last year we were unable... Continue reading

Going to Acadia
This weekend my mom, aunt, cousin, and I are going to Acadia National Park. Have any of you ever been? We will watch the sunset on Sunday and the sunrise on Monday morning. It is supposed to be so beautiful and I am very lucky to be able to get to go do this. It is a long drive and we have to sleep in a tent but I am excited, we all are. It is a six-hour drive so I will probably get to sleep for a while. I will also have to pack warm clothes since we are sleeping outside in a tent. Which none of us have done in such a long time and we will have to see how it goes. Hopefully, the weather will be nice and we get to see both the sunrise and sunset as well as have fun! Seeing Friends and Boat Rides
From camp the two girls and I left early in the morning to drive to our other friend's boat in Mass. It was one of the best times I have had in a while. Having the time to see my friends that I have missed so much was amazing. It was one of the first times I have also been on a boat like that besides in Greece or on a cruise. We got to go out on the ocean for a ride as well as around the docks. When out on the water it wasn’t too bad until on our way back. The waves were much bigger on the way back to the dock so it was a little rough. But it was so fun to ride and get to see the ocean in a new way like that. The weather was much nicer and we were able to... Continue reading

Camp and Fishing With Friends
While the weather was not great over the fourth weekend it was still super fun. I was able to see my friends from school and have free time for the first time in a long time. We went to camp for the weekend and saw some awesome fireworks. My neighbor on both sides at camp brought so many fireworks it was crazy. Then when they went all of it was right above us. Like seriously directly above us, and it was a little scary. It was probably one of the best fireworks shows that I have seen. We had to be wrapped in blankets because it was so cold but it was super cool. Both days at camp it was way too cold to swim, so we just hung out in many layers and fishing when we wanted to. Only Savannah ended up catching fish. Of course we named both... Continue reading

Weekend Off
Last weekend we went to camp like usual. It was super fun and my best friend came too. We got to go boating, tubing, and see all my family. While all of that was great I did however get a bad sunburn. I burn really easily, even if I am wearing sunscreen, and I am now in pain because of that as well as the tube burn on my arm. But it was all worth it to have fun! I will try to remember more and more sunscreen for this coming weekend. I am finally taking a few days off to enjoy myself this coming weekend. I am gonna see some of my friends from school and do lots of swimming. I am very excited and can’t wait! I hope that it doesn't rain on the fourth either because then they probably wouldn’t do fireworks which would be kinda sad.... Continue reading

Opening Camp
Going to camp is one of my favorite things to do. It is so calm and freeing just watching the lake. The first time I have been to camp this year was last weekend. Sadly I didn’t get to stay long but we are going again next weekend. We had to get everything up and ready. I mowed the lawn and my dad has been working on making us a new dock. The old one was starting to rot so he has been re-wooding the whole thing and making a new extension piece. It looks good and now the boat is in. We also got to spend some of father’s day with my grandpa. Being able to spend time with him these days is important to me as we don’t know how long we will be able to. He also loves to spend time with us at the camp so... Continue reading

Father's Day Weekend
For Fathers Day we didn’t do much. We went out to dinner to celebrate him at a place in Barre called The Meltdown. It was a cute fancy little place near downtown Barre. It was actually a really pretty place. The food was also pretty good as well. Most of the menu is grilled cheese that has been fancied and many different kinds. My brother and I got mac and cheese with bacon though. It was yummy and I would eat it again. We also got him a gift card to his favorite clothing store. It is hard to thank someone and get them a gift when they have given you everything you have. I am so thankful for my baba and hope he had a great Father's day! Continue reading

Brothers Graduation
Over the weekend I got to watch my baby brother graduate from high school! I can't believe how much he has grown and it is just crazy for me to think about. It feels like I just graduated so it should not be already his graduation. He also did a welcome speech and did amazing. This year has been so weird but he has done so well. He has excelled at school and persevered through everything. I am just so proud of him. I honestly can not explain just how proud of him I am. I have been able to watch him grow and help teach him so many things. Being his big sister is one of the most amazing things I have ever been able to do. It was such a beautiful day and I am so happy that my family was able to go to his graduation. We... Continue reading

Missing My Friends
Being home is great but it is also so weird being away from the people you have spent so much time with. I miss seeing and spending time with all those friends. While school is stressful and this year was difficult I am missing it a lot right now. I have been able to see a few of my friends from school but others live further away and it is hard. Especially with working so much. I am excited to see everyone in about two and a half months. I definitely look forward to having fun with them again and spending time with them, but for now, facetime and trying to keep up will have to do. Continue reading

My Brothers Prom
Yesterday was my brother's prom. I got to watch him get all dressed up and ready. Once he was all ready, there were about 300 pictures that were taken. Him and his date then went to another location with friends and took so many more pictures. There were tons of people at the second location and seeing everyone all dressed up was fun. I was able to see my friends who were younger all dressed up as well so that was great. Once we were done that and sent all the teenagers off to dinner before the prom, my family, my friend, and I went to dinner. It was a great day and I loved getting to see everyone dressed up, having a great time. It makes me think back to when I went to prom which feels like forever ago. I had a blast at prom and I hope... Rainy Day Off
This is the first day I have had off since I started back working. I am working three jobs and between all of them, I have worked every day. It has been a little stressful making sure none of them interfere with the other and definitely exhausting. I am always super tired but hopefully, I will be making lots of money to pay for school. On my day off today, it is very rainy and I will be going to my brother's soccer game. Hopefully, I will not get rained out too much. Continue reading

Home Sweet Home
I made the short trip back home almost two weeks ago. I didn’t start packing up my dorm room till the morning I was leaving and it was a little stressful. You never know how much stuff you have till you have to pack it all up and move out. Luckily it all went well and I have been adjusting back to my life at home. I start back to work this week and then will have more of a routine to be able to follow. When I am just sitting at home I don’t feel as useful so I am hoping work will be good. I have only seen some of my friends back home and it has been great. I have also got to have Fraya for a few days and that has been wonderful. It is great to catch up with everyone. I can’t wait for a... Continue reading

Finals Week
These last few weeks have been very busy. School is taking up all my time and I am stressed. There are tons of assignments due and now it is finals week. I haven’t even started packing yet and I leave in just a few days. But I also am so busy that it is crazy. I have two final exams left and two assignments left. Once that is done I can finally relax for a few days. I hope that I do well on my last few finals and that so does everyone else. Good Luck all! Continue reading

Respite Day
It is only about 2 weeks till finals now. It is so crazy that it is already almost here. The weather for the past two days has been amazing. Hopefully tons of you have been able to get out and enjoy the weather. I know that I have definitely been out in the sun and have a little sunburn now. It is such a mood lifter when the weather is nice and we are able to go out and enjoy it. Yesterday was also a respite day so hopefully, that was a good day off for everyone as well. I ate outside and there were tons of others who did the same. We are very close to the end so everyone hold on and keep doing your best! Continue reading

First Weekend Off
This weekend was the first weekend we were able to apply to leave campus. I applied to leave on Saturday and was able to then go and see my father and brother for the first time in 2 months. I missed them so much and we had such a great time. My family means so much to me and I usually spend lots of time with them if I wasn’t stuck here. They made me good food and we went for a walk. It was a beautiful day out and was perfect to get to see them. I feel like my brother has gotten so much taller and is growing like crazy. I have missed so much and I can not wait to be back home with my mom too. Also seeing my Fraya and Sara will be amazing. I hope that I will be able to see them all... Continue reading

Warm Weather!
It was an absolutely beautiful day today. It was the best weather of the year and I think that everyone definitely needed it. It is such an amazing feeling to have the sun on your face and the warm wind hitting your cheeks. After it being cold for so long it can instantly make your mood better. My roommates and I did our homework outside almost all day. We set up a blanket and even ate dinner out there. It was a pretty good day. It definitely helped me to forget how much I missed my family and everything back home. The next few days are also supposed to be really nice!! So if you didn’t get to go out and enjoy the weather today you should definitely go out tomorrow!! I know I will definitely be enjoying it for as long as I can! Continue reading

Beautiful Weather
March is here. The weather is still so cold and windy. We had a few nice days last week where it was so beautiful out but right back to freezing this week. Walking around enjoying the sun and 50-degree weather was super nice. It makes me see just how beautiful this campus is. We often take for granted the beauty of Vermont when it is so cold but then once it warms up a little it is amazing. When the weather is nicer I can not wait to be outside more. It has been two weeks since I have posted and I have been so busy. Midterms week was super hectic and so was last week with more exams. This week I start my clinical and have another exam. On Wednesday I start going to my first ever clinical and I am super nervous. I have never been to the... Continue reading
