Wow, Fitz, this was an incredible piece. Not only were you able to get your point across in a united way, but you were also able to grasp and keep my attention all the way through the piece. Your comparison to being a proclaimed "essay writer" to being able to "cook awesome hot-dogs" was a very interesting and unique way to portray how essays are perceived by the public. In addition, the way you are able to put so much power into a single sentence (especially the sentence about how essay came from the french "essaei" - meaning to try) is continuously astounding. Keep up the outstanding work!
The voice in this piece is very creative and interesting. I enjoy the fact that, as long as you stay relatively on topic, your piece can be an "essay". The fun voice throughout this blog post made it easy to read, but also gave it an extra pinch of excitement. Keep up the good work!
