Jack, was it in the middle of the night? They never chirp at noon. Hope you are okay.

Not many Trump signs here in this deep blue area, but apparently that Trump trailer (independent of the campaign) has seventeen more in Mass! Dave in Mass - that post about the Karens and the restaurant is typical. Do these people ever tire of being high and mighty? (Don’t answer that).

Can someone kindly post a link to Mitch’s speech? I may be ipad illiterate, but once I log in here, I have to scroll through from the beginning. Thanks! Many brand new Biden Harris signs have popped up in this area over the weekend. There must have been a meeting where they gave them out or some such. Perhaps TM has decided to no longer post, and we will be stuck here perpetually- page after page after page. It was another zoo today. Everyone in a big hurry (where are they going?). Still so many who can’t understand the fact that we simply can’t bring in certain products. In general, everyone is getting cranky. The fatigue is kicking in - especially since it’s been a very cold September so far. Push the next supreme through, and let’s get on with the mess!

I made the mistake of checking Fox news. Big surprise, Gov Baker does not support Trump's plan. No shit. Baker has never supported Trump, and this is just an example of how the media likes to toy with people. I makes me mad. Anything about Baker makes me mad, except if I hear he slipped in mud or something. Anyway, now I know how to wake up. No caffeine, just check foxnews.com! Now back to work and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Marlene, I‘m having flashbacks! When hubs and I began landscaping this corner property (In 2000) which had been vacant and an eye sore for years, the neighbor up the street stopped by. The landscapers had just planted about 75 privet bushes along the edge of the street, and those plants had been lined up for two days. I thought she was going to thank me for fixing up the yard. Instead she told me that she had called the Mass Highway Dept as the plants were on state property. She worked for the Ma Dept of Environmental Protection. I told her she should have spoken up before the plants were put in the ground, and to get the hell off of my property. By the way, the next day I discovered I was expecting the third baby, and the day after that my husband’s employer closed it’s doors with only two days notice! Fun times! But we got through it! They must take a class in how to act like a first class ass in “ environmental school.”

Good Morning! (Or is it!?) I’m going to follow the advice I posted last weekend from Matthew - Jesus says just worry about today. I need to pick up a new mattress and boxspring for son. Back has been bugging him, and we realized he was still using his elementary school bed - basically a mattress over slats with drawers underneath. Thought we could bring it to the local Restore (Habitat for Humanity store). Their website says they support BLM and all the usual blather. Oh well, will put it out on the busy road with a “free” sign. Screw em. Sbwaters, really awful news about your brother’s business. I hope he finds happiness wherever he ends up. Congrats to Hoyden on new job. Husband called local gun store about he and son trying some guns out. Man at the store says you can rent the guns, but you need to buy the ammo, and “I am fucking out of ammo.” My health issue keeps springing up, so no caffeine, alcohol, acidic food or spicy food for a bit. I’ll probs just hide from the news and sleep when not working or busy around the house. Wake me up when we win please! Just checking it. Hang in there everyone!

I also hope TK has no residual issues. I am out. Not opening, but another day at the zoo requires that I get some sleep. God bless all, and enjoy. I do feel optimistic, but worry that I must be prepared mentally (and perhaps armed) for the worst.

Silent majority, Dave. Also the local gunshop is sold out of ammo. Falmouth just banned alcohol nips and single use water bottles. So will people just throw pints onto the side of the road now? And one can buy a Coke with a sub, but not a water and a sub? The very lib Cape Cod Times reports that the Falmouth town meeting did not present any info on the part of the package store association. They had plans to do clean ups, and drop off sites, among other things. I don’t drink nips, and I pick up the empties in the doggie poop bags when I walk along my scenic highway, but there is plenty of other trash. Underwear - I refused to pick that up. Take out containers, coffee cups, soda cans, etc. Should all those items be banned? Oh, yes, I should be involved. But sorry I am working and no pension. I did my time when my kids were young. Arghhh

Dave, it’s so old. My impression is that no matter how people vote, they are sick of the BLM nonsense. And the anti cop nonsense. They will still vote dem, but they are tired of it all.

Sorry for the multiple posts. I just remembered this tidbit from earlier this evening. Husband’s sister is a counselor/psychologist of some sort. During this defund the police movement she has become the sole voice of sanity in her office, as she has accompanied police on domestic calls for quite some time. I always thought she was a bit crazy left, but it turns out she’s not at all. Anyway she texted that a family in Taunton, MA has a kid remote learning. There were fights in the abode, and the older brother who was involved in the fight apparently entered the kid’s room (the remote schooling kid) and started to masturbate on camera! SIL wonders if she will have to counsel him soon. What a nightmare! These poor kids. We thought they were being punished by the school system when they were attending in person, now it’s just a complete shit show.

Oh, and the most important point to remember when using a gas stove is to not blow up the house! Never, never use the gas stove after consuming frozen mudslides. No matter what your friends say! I used to have an electric radiant cook top, and that was also pretty efficient. I think it could heat a kettle of water faster than my gas stove does. But I like the heat control of the gas stove. Plus that’s what I grew up using.

Sidwhite at 9:58am. Thanks for the compliment! I decided to take a few days off and am catching up tonight. I really appreciate the comment, because I thought I was putting too much “out there.” So now I post - and as usual, for longer than I should. I have a low level kitchen. I still have formica, and my cabinets are from the 1950s. A skilled brother did some work years ago to fix things up and modernize, but it’s probably a 1980s kitchen. Yet guests like it. They feel relaxed in it. IMO if one knows how to cook, one can cook in almost any situation, from amazing modern kitchen, to camp fire. One finds a way to provide good food, and entertainment around a meal. I think many people of moderate income, who also like to be independent and healthy, know how to cook. It’s a basic part of budgeting and providing. But we like to have fun here, and meals are important- so... The store is insanely busy, and I still see the full range of customers - from scared to death to fmal. I am blessed to have it, but my liver hates me. It’s draining but also wonderful to help people, but some just suck the energy out of me. Hubs and I visited his father the other night. He wanted me to look over some tax issues (he has no money, so okay). We were planning on having dinner with him, but since we arrived at 5pm, and after going though papers it was 6pm, he told us it was too late for him to dine. We stopped at a favorite restaurant that had just relocated to a nice golf club looking over the canal. At the next table were two of my customers. Their friends were chewing them out for not supporting Trump, and the male friend said he had voted for Obama. My customer (the wife) said Trump is stupid. The other guy said something like he’s a billionaire, how can he be stupid? Anyway, the husband kept quiet. I thought it was interesting.

I like Jane’s optimism day! There is so much going on to cause us all anxiety and stress, and downright pessimism. In an effort fill in my Sunday of no church I started reading Matthew (once again). Matthew 6:34. 34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day. It’s helping me! Jane I admire your optimism!

Didn’t mean to imply a Biden moment, MissM! I just thought it was kind of funny! Bubarooni, congrats on 28 years! We did about the same thing on our 28th! And yes, I always feel like a complete ass walking outside to an outside table, wearing a mask, and seeing all the other people maskless at the tables. When will the insanity end!. I think I will sign off. Hubs is at the blender making strawberry mudslides. Yikes This time I will not attempt to blow up the house!

Henry and others on previous thread. Mass sales tax is 6.25%. It should be 5% as a statewide referendum passed years ago. But the legislature and gov just blew it off. The use tax is a tricky issue here. I filed the taxes for years before my father died. He always gave me a piece of paper which included the use tax figure. It was always an amount under $40 or so. When he died, and I started figuring out the taxes, I concluded he just made up a figure to keep the DOR away. Since then I have heard of many other business owners being audited due to not paying the use tax. It’s just a shakedown. So I pay it personally as well. It pays to keep the DOR away! No more shop or tax talk for me. Miss M? Are their really kittens somewhere in your garage?
